Andy Dodson Posted April 21 Posted April 21 Hi Guys I suppose this is not specific to the Q5, but here goes. We have just taken delivery of a Q5 TFSI e 2025 model. I normally listen to Radio Paradise ( an internet station) and have a feeling I can only do that via air play from my I phone. I also like to listen to digital copies of my music library, again this can be done via airplay, but I wondered if, A) can an app be downloaded to the MMI system for Radio Paradise to be played from within? B) If the music files were put on a USB device and plugged in, is the MMI device capable of playing the files (mostly FLAC high def)? If this post is better posted to a different sector of the forum, please feel free to relocate it. Andy
Shytot Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Your car should have Apple Carplay either wirelessly or through the USB C cable. The android equivalent - android auto - allows me to load internet radio stations and should allow you to play your music from your itunes library. Google is your friend - so carplay with internet radio stations would be a good start. Alternatively - get a spotify account and connect to it via carplay.
Andy Dodson Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago Hi and thanks for the reply. Yes we have played music through the blue tooth connection via Apple phone. I have, since posting found out how to play FLAC files from a USB stick. Still leaves the question of whether apps can be downloaded onto the MMI, allowing direct access to Radio Paradise, but is not really a major inconvenience. Ideally I would like to download Qobuz onto the MMI as well, but hey. Cheers Andy
Shytot Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Andy - Apple CarPlay is the app that enables your iPhone to work with the mmi. It's more than as Bluetooth connection it displays apps on the mmi screen and let's you use your iPhone apps on the mmi screen. If you plug in through your USB it should ask if you want to use carplay. I suspect that you also have wireless carplay capability - either way it makes your iPhone much more integrated with your car and you shouldn't need a USB stick.
