Rear Door Soft Close & Front Seat Movement

Featured Replies

Hi all - 2 issues (unrelated) ....

  1. Rear RH side door - Door does not seem to "latch" fully when closed and soft close does not engage (Door will ONLY close fully with some force, but will then open slightly ajar when driving as if it is not fully shut). Only cure is to close the door fully, lock and then leave for a few hours before it will then stay shut while travelling .
  2. Passenger front seat movement motors - forward & back, recline forward & back all work fine. Up & Down will not work and stuck in fully UP position.

VCDS not throwing any errors for either issue ..... I am a bit stumped !2018 4K 50TDi model.

Any ideas? TIA

Has the door been removed or damaged? If so, it would be worth looking for some misalignment of the hinges or lock hasp. If that aspect is fine then I suspect the lock inside the door is defective.

Picked up as 3rd owner 2 months ago so cannot be sure - no apparent evidence of damage or misalignment though.

Door latch seems to operate as normal when door is open position and tested with key lock and interior/exterior handle.

As mentioned though - soft close mechanism does not make any noise even when door is closed “fully”
