So, gearbox oil and filter changed, shifts seem smother. Also do a launch and all ok. I will leave it as is for next couple of weeks and if all ok get it back to stage one with the r600 air intake back in. If no more issues then that will be the topic resolved and if not il update again. Thanks for all the info/advise

Thank you for the update. Glad it might just be the gearbox oil.

So just an update after 6 months gearbox issue reappeared. Countless trips to the dealer and with no help I had enough. Took it to a reputable car garage was diagnosed it as a faulty mechatronics unit. Sent to ecu testing and repaired 3 times but every time fault came back. So finally after threatening the warranty company with legal action the have agreed to change the unit. Have not had my car for over 3 months. Fingers crossed il have it back next week:

So just received my car back. New mechatrincics unit fitted. Drove fine for 20 mins. Pulling out of junction again and gearbox malfunction light came on and into limo mode( stuck in second gear). Think this just leaves one thing. The gearbox itself. I love this car when it works but over the last 6 months it’s given me nothing but bother and now looking at a bill for a new gearbox

Mechanic is going to try replacing the pump on gearbox first. It took me to threaten legal action to get them to replace that so I’m not sure where we go from here. Waiting on a phone call from solicitor today to see where I stand. New gearbox for car is £8500

Well the fact the issue came back after 20 mins makes me think the warranty company/garage knew it wasnt fixed. As surely that would have come up on a road test? Did they even do a road test...

Definitely speak to warranty company again.

Mechanic drove it home and I called round to take it a drive. He couldn’t get it to fail but as soon as I drove it it malfunctioned again. (Maybe my driving lol). Prob is that the warranty company look for fault codes as evidence. These codes will most likely show mechatronucs and not gear box. But the bottom line is they haven’t resolved the issue and they need to. Il keep yous updated next week when pump is fitted. There’s also a software update outstanding on gearbox which il take to Audi to get done but can’t see that fixing it

Keep the pressure on the warranty company as it's not fixed. Don't forget to labour the inconvenience of not having your car for 3 months. If paid for the car with any form of finance don't forget you can get them on the case stating the car isn't fit for purpose etc.
