Suspension has dropped a7 2018 any ideas

Featured Replies

My suspension has dropped a7, no warning light is this a common problem? Anyone got any ideas why.

Both front wheels, they are springs so not sure how they can drop

Broken springs have now become a regular problem - both together??
Any incident with speed bumps etc.?
Obviously the answer lies solely via. an inspection of the car, and I would suggest this is carried out without delay.

Would you be kind enough to come back with the cause , so other members might benefit.
You are sure it’s a spring rather than air suspension set up - ?

Gareth.

Thanks Gareth,

I looked behind the wheel and can see springs, the thing is I’m a careful driver and always go over speed bumps slowly, I came off holiday and noticed the front end sitting very low close to the wheel arch, could it have air suspension and springs?

Speed bumps can be avoided but many of the potholes in our roads can not, so the chances are that you have broken both springs while on holiday when you would have had a greater than normal load in the car.

Please do not use the car until it has been repaired. Even driving it to a garage could cause more damage, and would also be illegal, so it would be better to have it hoisted on a dolly or transported on a flatbed.

Your right mate I’ve got two broken spring, thanks for your help

Who are you going to entrust with doing this Graham?

The quality of parts used will be important, so ask what brand of springs will be used. If the answer is OEM standard then beware - there are some dodgy brands claiming this status.
In case it helps, I’ve used Febi to good effect.

Gareth.
