IAT sensor - 2016 A6 - Where is it? Is it a separate part?

Featured Replies

Hi all. I’ve had a few issues with the A6 and have swapped out the MAP sensor and the MAF. I’ve now got a recurring P0111 code which indicates an issue with the Air Intake Temp sensor? Is this part of the MAF which I swapped out earlier? Is it a separate part I can buy and then refit within the MAF? I know I can take it apart again and check but wondered if anyone can give guidance before I do it. Cheers…

Hi the AIT sensor is on the intake manifold from memory its mounted the throttle valve, single bolt with a probe on the end fit that sits in the housing about 17mm bolt. is the new MAF a BOSCH unit as I had a couple of aftermarket units, they are rubbish.

Thanks Steve. Will take a look. The MAF was aftermarket so will use Bosch for the IAT when I swap. If no joy then I'll swap the MAF for a Bosch if still some issues. It seems to be running rough at low revs but then smooths out after around 2200 rpm so I'm hoping the sensors are the cause, rather than something mechanical. Cheers, Paxton.

My A6 C7 threw a P0101 code. This was reported as MAF sensor on the Code Reader I borrowed. Replaced the MAF and still getting errors and I eventually tracked this to this pressure sensor.

Sensor of differential pressure for Audi / Seat / VW / Skoda ref ...

A little research shoed this can be the culprit. Worked for me.

Hi I am pretty certain its not the engine these cars are so sensitive on emissions I used to get spells like this playing chase the Ace with the sensors as they are daisy chained electronically so replace one and the next one starts acting up so in the end you just replace the lot, peace for another 100k.

Steve.

I have thought that sensor failure was a domino effect and that to find by replace you should start with the cheapest option and work your way "uphill". I took the MAF fail as explicit - tried cleaning it with Carb cleaner but that did not work. It was around 96K miles too. All in all I had the pressure sensor, MAF and 2 Exhaust Gas Temp sensor fails in the time I had the car 9K to 96K Miles and I consider that lucky compared to some. I was using an Audi specialist near me once the car had gone over 50K miles. Money saved but still a top notch service from them apart from the coffee you get in Audi partners 😉

Hi you will find that around 100k a lot of these things start happening if you replace the MAF its always the MAP sensor that needs changing with it as both those correlate their information, its the same with EGT sensors if you change them change the DPF pressure sensor as well, also you will get random oil leaks, I ran my car to over 270k, therefore I had most of their brands disgusting habits, crank seals, driveshaft seals, throttle body, low pressure EGR cooler with valve, high pressure EGR, front rear wishbones, front top mount pads, front control arms, all very expensive even in aftermarket.
