Convert current standard steering wheel to later version

Featured Replies

Hi, some advice if possible. We have purchased an A1 SE TFSI 2011 3-door Hatch 1200cc Petrol for our daughter's first car. Currently has a standard steering wheel with no functions. I want to change over to give her the option to control the radio, etc, using an age-appropriate replacement wheel. And after looking at the current setup, I found the air bag does not have the additional connector plug to support those connections.

So, the question is, is it as simple as changing the steering wheel and airbag? I have seen lots of posts around the clock rings also, and I am hoping the current one will be sufficient.  Any guidance would be welcome, or am I opening up a can of worms?

You'll need the wheel, airbag, clock spring, wiring loom and then it to be coded to the car to make sure it's all calibrated correctly with the steering angle sensor etc. speak to autologics or Audi retrofits as members have used them for retrofits in the past.
