Hello,

My car is a 2010 Audi A5 3.0 TDi cabriolet and a UK model.

Looking for an any pointers…. Noticed that my passenger mirror adjustment is not working and neither is the indicator light. Window and locking all work fine. Looked through the myriad of fuses in the owners manual and there doesn’t seem to be a related one to test and/or change. Just to add drivers door is all good with everything working.

I would very much appreciate any ideas from the collective brains here?

It would be worth inspecting the wiring in the rubber bellows between door and pillar because it tends to fracture and cause problems with the locks and windows. If the mirror wiring runs through that same bellows it may be damaged. You will need to remove the door card for access.

Thanks for that - I did wonder if it might be something like that. I’ll live with it for a few weeks as am away on holidays and during that time it will be going in for a service to P W Motorsport and I can get them to take a look whilst I am relaxing on my sun-lounger!

BTW hoping this is allowed - P W Motorsport is based in Clunderwyn in South Walker and specialises in all things VW & Audi. Founded by my brother Philip many years ago and now owned by Karl Gos. Both of them know their stuff and finally after 66 years they have got me in an Audi having always resisted their well meaning suggestions😃

I will report back towards the end of October on what they find.

Do let us know the outcome. If the passenger door wiring proves to be damaged, look in the driver's door as well in case that is starting to fail.

So by way of an update…

Door trim removed and checked - Nothing obvious so replacement door trim ordered but on back order just now.

Odd thing is that the window works fine so presume separate loom?

Alos noticed that in addition to the mirror adjust & heat and the mirror indicator not working the remote door locking in the door also does not work…

Here’s hoping the replacement loom sorts it!

p.s. This garage identified which reverse sensor was at fault for me, sometime ago. Very helpful folks. Thanks for the recommendation.

Phil (brother) assured me it was checked as best you can in situ and nothing amiss especially in the area of the bellows so next option has to be replace the loom….

Won’t be cheap… At least I get family & friends rate 😃

So new N/S door loom fitted seems to have resolved the nproblem which is good news. 

Inspected the old one and no visible sign of damage so whatever the issue it must be cocealed working the loom covering tape.

Cost? Well genuine Audi part was £175….

Apparently this is quite a common issue?
