I doubt you get any concensus on the forum because the right choice will depend on your driving style, your budget, the sort of road conditions you drive on, the loads you carry, your preference for fuel economy versus grip, and so on.

If you are satisfied with whatever brand of tyres you have at the moment I suggest you get the same again.

Michelin CrossClimate+ but you’d need to do rears too. Excellent hybrid winter tyre. Nexen, hard wearing and good grip, basically a summer tyre.

Ultimately depends on budget. Avoid cheap makes. All the big brands make decent tyres. Dunlop Sport usually a safe bet.

Had Vredestein once, but compound too soft. Might be different on A3.

It’s my first set I’ve have to choose for this vehicle. The ones are are very budget and useless. Hence me asking what others have found good bad and in different. I’m aware of different driving styles. Just trying to get an idea

Thanks Claire,

I must agree with Cliff, and in my book too, your question raises the need for more information from you, and driving style is indeed uppermost.

Could you kindly let us know what aspects in particular draws you to the conclusion that your current budget tyres are ‘useless’?

Are you prepared to pay the price for premium branded tyres?

Apologies Claire, we really do want to be helpful, but we do need to have more information, otherwise you might end up with going dancing in wellies!

I’m really sorry. I have now got Bridgestones on. They were the original brand. My driving style is mixed of motorway and local roads. My old tyres had absolutely no grip. I didn’t feel confident pulling out of junctions or driving in wet weather.  Thank you for your help. I’m sure I’ll be back for more advice. I live reading other posts. 😃

I’m really sorry I didn’t reply I didn’t get a notification. 😔

Thanks for eventually answering the questions.

Bridgestones are middling quality, so I am surprised you regard them as useless and without grip. Perhaps your driving style is harsher than you believe.

The new tyres are Bridgestones. The old ones were a make I’ve never heard of. My driving style is definitely not harsh. I’m well passed that stage 🤣
