Washers

Featured Replies

Hi all.

My washers have been working intermittently for a week or two now, but today they have completely given up, there isn’t any noise coming from the pump in the wing so could that be the issue ? Also is it an easy fix(job) to do. Or could it be a different issue ? Any help would be appreciated.

thank you.

Welcome Scott,

Likely to be the pump, or possibly congealed gunge in the bottom of the reservoir. Aftermarket pumps are cheap.
Access usually by taking the wheel arch liner out. Fixings usually corrode and may give trouble but…

Gareth.

Update to this post,

I finally found some time to get this sorted, fuse checked and all ok so it was the washer motor, took n/s front wheel off and inner wing, disconnected washer pump hoses and power supply, this only took and 15 mins.

Swapped out old pump for new one and put back everything I did in reverse, job took about 30-45 mins at the most, a nice quick cheap fix 👌🏻👍🏻

Thank you to everyone that helped with this matter

Hi guys

My screen washer has just died, having shown no problems at all. No noise at all, so figure fuse or washer itself. My fuse box diagram doesn't show a slot for the screenwasher, can anyone help me out? Obvs, I'm hoping it's the fuse.

Thanks guys

Hello Russell,

Whereas you may hope it’s a blown fuse, fuses blow to protect the circuit in event of issues, so it’s does just mean replacing the fuse and all is well.

Sounds like following the above is your best bet.

Please let us know how you get on.

Regards,

Gareth.

Thanks for such a speedy reply Gareth

Unfortunately, I know from personal history that I am likely to botch the job so figure an independent probably cheaper than mains dealer?

Thanks Gareth, will get recommendations from my mates.

All the best

😅
