Wastegate Actuator Clip

Featured Replies

Driver System Fault warning, have a look under the bonnet  low and behold Wastegate Actuator arm isnt connected to ball joint on the Actuator itself.

Closer inspection the clip holding the actuator arm to the Actual actuator itself is no longer there!

Spent all day going to different local garages, turns out the clips cant be purchased on there own and come as part of a whole new Actuator quoted (£439).

Is there any place that would be selling just the clips or breaking A4 2.0 TFSI (B9) that could be recommended to purchase the clip?

Cheers guys! The actuator on the car is 06N145655, the clips look like just C clips but an odd shape that fits through the arm to grip the ball joint.

Absolute pain to find at the moment, probably one of the most expensive clips to lose 😅

Ive messaged a few car breakers and tried local scrap yards but no luck at the moment.

Hi bud did you have any luck? Got the same situation 🤦🏻‍♂️

Help! I have exactly the same problem as the OP. I was quoted £200+ for actuator, rod and fittings by Audi dealer.

Does anyone know a source for this clip?

Any help much appreciated.

My son has a 3D printer, and is working with me to find a solution. It's a work in progress at the moment, so I'll post here to let you know how we get on.

OK, I think I've found the answer:

Gas strut retaining clip on Ebay. I've just ordered a pair and will let you know suitability.

Credit to my son who found this while we were discussing 3D printing.

I can confirm the above does work. Used gas strut spring clip to refix the arm and all is good 👍🏼

Problem solved. After a slight postal delay, the part has been received, is fitted and working.

I also found this item on Amazon which contains the same spring:

I hope this thread will help someone in the future.
