OBDEleven - Help decoding fault messages

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a 2012 A5 Convertible, bought around 6m ago and recently started showing a few dash error messages. The EPC light comes on when starting from cold, but on 2nd start it doesn't. Also started getting intermittent light system malfunction errors. My gut feeling was that the battery needs replacing, but bought an OBD Eleven out of curiosity. Not sure how to interpret the various errors, hoping someone here can provide some guidance :

Central Electrics

01626 & 01628 - Front parking aid sensors open circuit

01496 - Fog light open circuit

03384 - Window washer nozzle circuit error

Doors

02123 - Driver door error in circuit

Engine

PO19000 - Fuel rail pressure sensor A Circuit

P003000 - O2 sensor heater control circuit

U044700 - Invalid data received from Serial Data Gateway

Climate

03220 - Climatronic refrigerant short circuit B+

Generator

02252 - Generator no signal

Seems a lot, but mostly circuitry, so wondered if that backed up my theory of low voltage issues & new battery?

TIA

Sam

It could very well be a weak battery, which can cause the symptoms you describe and erroneous error codes, so the first thing to do is get it tested along with the alternator. If it needs to be changed ensure it is coded to the car. See this:

Winter always reveals dying batteries.

Thank you. I don’t suppose you know if i can code it to the car using the OBDEleven device? I googled it and it suggested ‘possibly’.
