A3 v6 Manual / DSG Gearbox swap

Featured Replies

Hi all,

The gearbox locked up and said goodnight on my 2006 A3 3.2 V6, I have a spare 2006 A3 3.2 V6 available to me but it's a S-Tronic Auto rather than Manual.

Does anyone know if the box from the Auto can be swapped into the Manual?

I am hoping the boxes are the same and it's just the mechanisms around them that are different between Manual and Autos 🙏🙏

Kind regards

Simon

Oh ok, so its not just fit, plug and play?

I'm still old school from the 80s Peugeot days where most boxes from most models fitted

It's the coding that's the problem. I'm in a similar boat with my 02 A6.

Thanks for the help

A manual can be fitted to an auto, but as stated will need all the TCM and related wiring. Then will also need the inhibitor switch to be connected to tell the TCM it's either in park or neutral.
