Hi guys I need some help.

I have an Audi a4 quattro sport. Roughly about two weeks ago, out of the blue, my boot kept opening with the keys in a basket where there couldn't be pressed. I took it to a garage he said it was the boot lock, I changed it. But no luck, same issue. Although it was a day and a half later that the same issue started happening again.

I put it into chatgpt and it said it could be the tail switch, I ordered that and had it replaced. This time it was two days and then the same issue arose.

For now I have had to remove the fuse from the boot to stop it opening.

I would be extremely grateful for any advice :-)

Hi to quote Magnet inspect the loom between the tailgate and body as these locks work on a grounding/earth system to release the lock so if you have a broken or exposed wire thats grounding it will keep unlocking on its own.

Also your speaking to a complete novice where would I find this loom

Within the flexible convoluted section twixt body and tailgate - as Stevey has said.
