New and lost

Featured Replies

My granddaughter has bought an a1 1.2 tfsi after passing her test ! The air filter and pipework were missing and a cone type filter fitted ! Can't seem to find the parts to put it back to standard as I think the problem she is having with the car under acceleration is caused by this ! There is no maf sensor fitted but appears to be an air pressure sensor fitted onto servo vacuum line ! Does anyone have a picture of the air intake assembly i can try and find the parts I need ! Sorry to be begging on my first post but I am at a loss it's a 2012 btw

Miss spell

Given that the filter has been altered I'd be very concerned that other modifications have been made which you have not discovered yet: mapping, suspension, CRV for examples, that would affect reliability MOT and insurance. Without written evidence of changes from the vendor and a full service history I would return it for a refund.

Welcome Mike,

Where and from who did she buy the car, and did she have anyone knowledgeable to inspect it, prior to purchase.

From what you say, the car appears to have been in the hands of a go-faster owner, and if bought from a trader and she wasn’t told it had been modified, then I too would be following Cliff’s logic.

Regards,

Gareth.

It was a private sale ! So no real comeback i went with her and saw the filter but thought it would be a simple fix to replace with standard equipment but just can't find what i need ! Suspension and wheels are standard and the window and light tint that it also had has been removed. Thanks for the replies ! Though guys ! Sorry I never got back on sooner !
