ECU stage 2 to stock ECU

Featured Replies

Looking at buying an S3, the seller says it has a sports cat but with a stock ecu so it has a warning light. He says the car runs fine with the warning light, is this true? I would've thought it would run badly because the emissions are higher than what the ecu wants to see? He also says he bought it with a stage 2 map but then changed it back to stock and apparently it ran with no issues. Not sure I believe him, is this possible?

Thank you in advance.

Hi best find out what the lights about first, sometimes depending who did the map they can't back track so you could be buying a host of expensive crap, not sure why people do this the car is plenty fast enough standard and chances are its an over fuelling issue.

Steve.
