Ok guys, thought I would report back and let you know how the turbo replacement went. Got the car back yesterday and took it on a 200 mile trip. All I can say is that I'm so happy with the replacement turbo and the car runs amazing. The power is amazing , the pick up is fantastic and I hardly used any fuel. So happy with the work that Lee and Sean did on my car. Labour cost was £282, was quoted £270 but they replaced a pipe for me that I didn't know I needed. Really happy with the service that WCC Audi gave me and I am going back next week to delete the egr valve and egr cooler. Thankyou to everyone on this forum that gave me good advice and offered to help me in my time of need. WCC Audi contact details are below guys. They only do the work you need and offered me very good free advice.

  • Ok, my two pence...   Firstly, why replace the EGR? all it is doing is sending !Removed! exhaust fumes through your inlet, cough cough. blank it and be done with it! Secondly, why pay £

  • and i wouldnt go down the terrraclean route either, ever!  a very similar route would be take remove your air inlet pipe, post turbo. get a wall paper stripper, get somoene to hold your car at ar

  • it certainly is the case for DPFs. even if it is the case for the EGR, you are not removing it, you are blanking it. when you consider what it is doing blanking it will improve your emissions.  a

Nice one mate. Glad it's sorted.

Hoping to get the egr and egr cooler deleted this weekend. Hope to see a difference once that's done. Do you think I will see a nice little improvement once the egr and cooler are sorted out ?

Probably not. It's a bit like having your tonsils or appendix out in anticipation lol

Hi guys new to this group, have this Audi a3 1.6TDI which had limp mode and could see the Glow Light Flashing, Engine,DPF Light On

I’ve had the DPF cleaned and after all the Lights has gone, yet everytime I start the car the Glow light will flash and engine light will reappear after few seconds and limp mode returns..

Mechanic said EGR Circuit failure showing up in diagnostics and need to replace it or cap it?

Any ideas what it could be? And what’s the best way?

(Battery voltage showing low on OBD)

Thanks for your reply mate. I’ve just done around 5-10 drive cycles since the DPF REGEN and on one of those drive cycles (6-7) glow light disappeared, Limp mode deactivated, after another few drive cycles the engine light disappeared…. I took it for a Motorway run to give that additional cleanse in 4th Gear around 3rpm for 15-20mins…. Came home let it run and switched it off.
Is this problem solved, or is the ECU trying to find a fault again?

How do I actually get it coded? Can I do it myself or do you recommend a garage do it
