MPG on A4 Allroad 20.TDI Tronic

Hi All

I have recently bought a 2014 Allroad 2.0 TDI Tronic and I am a bit disappointed with the mpg.  On the motorway doing about 75mph I only get around 38-42 mpg at best.  Are others getting similar or is mine particularly bad?   I guess the 4wd burns more fuel?

Cheers.

I'm not sure, but to be honest, that is somewhat irrelevant as we all know that manufacturers exaggerate their figures.  That's why I was hoping to get feedback on what others are getting.

Cheers.

I get 45-50 by sitting 70

If you are way under, get some engine cleaner in your tank next fill up, empty bottle of redx into it and see the difference.

Is yours an Allroad 177PS?  The best i Have every had is 44MPG when I sat at 70 for 30 miles.  I have tried diesel cleaner but it hasn't made any difference that I can tell.  It was Redex but it was a more expensive version recommended by a local VW specialist.

Late reply sorry, I found it the cause of my !Removed! was the emissions scandal, audi had amended it before i got it and it screwed up the whole thing.

had it remapped and its back to usual, hammering it constantly i got the same mpg like driving like a granny.

I’m having this issue with my A4 Avant. I’m getting avg 44mpg on a long run from London to Bristol. I get 48mpg from Surrey to Reading sitting at 65 the whole way. I put 50L in the tank and took a drive from London to the Kent coast. When I started I had 470 miles according to the trip computer, despite sitting at 70 with cruise on the whole way down and back I managed 253 miles before it was telling me to refuel. This terrible mileage has been doing my head in! I had an Insignia company car before and could easily get 600 miles out of a tank. In my B8 I can barely get 350 from a full tank. Any suggestions to add on what I can do?

edit: Haven’t noticed any change from the emissions software being removed last year

JUst bought an Allroad a few weeks back, only done about 150 miles but have the impression it’s a pretty heavy user too as the range is also just falling off and gauge dropping. Previous B7 (115 bhp) got about 45ish. We have bike racks on the roof.
