Power steering squeaking when turning to the max.

Featured Replies

Hi, today I noticed a nasty squeaking noise when turning the wheels to the max (both left and right). Fluid level is ok but i have never changed it since i bought the car (3 months ago). Could the fluid be the problem or should I be looking for a new pump?

Hi Dragos,

It could be the pump of the pulley. When I had this issue it was because if the pulley. Obviously the cheapest and easiest option is to change the fluid first.

Cheers

Thank you Steve, will do the fluid change asap. Do you know how much fluid is needed for the job? I guess it shouldn't be more than 1 litre, am I wrong?
