Hi

I have an audi a4 b5 avant 1.9tdi, 2001, with 135000 miles.

Whilst driving home earlier my car lost drive and coasted to a stop. I pressed the clutch pedal which was more or less on the floor and what little play there was had little resistance. I can select every gear freely with no crunching, however no drive. There is a slight noise from the clutch when a gear is selected.

I have read that it could be a slave cylinder but from what I read if that went the car would be stuck in gear and or unable to select a gear. It was too dark to see if any fluid has leaked.

Can anyone help?

Hi John welcome to the forum :)

You'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :)

A slave cylinder sounds a good guess to be honest, but have you had a diagnostic check carried out at all?

Cheers

Steve
