Hi check the wiring for the plug that goes to the motor sometimes the earth wire rots out underneath the insulation, worth introducing a false earth by cutting the insulation back on the earth wire then wrap a new piece of wire around the exposed area and earth it to a bolt on the body, check the plug for corrosion first. Hello David, To the point, and although I feel it would be polite to say ‘regretfully’, it seems you are just the type of new member that made it necessary for us to have to have posted the introduction to new members, where we point out the need to acknowledge advice given on here, when it has been asked for. Work in progress… engine and gearbox has been taken out. Timing chain looks to be 100%. Mechanic is steering towards an oil pump. There’s oil in one of the injectors.. waiting for further updates. This is as far as we got so far.

This could be caused by a failing thermostat

If the car hasn't had the remap to map out the dpf or egr then this could be the problem. Have you had a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up? Also the injectors can be sent off to be tested to see if any are faulty. Also have the injector seals been checked as a leaking injector seal can cause these symptoms.
