  1. Stevie Q is bang on with a diagnostic scan. If you don’t have a scanner With a helper you can rest a finger tip on each sensor one at a time and you feel a very gently ticking, a sensor that doesn’t tick or ticks a lot slower and weaker then the rest could be failing/failed. The system will time out after a 1 second or 2 so will need to keep cycling the ignition and system to check them all, that’s why you need a helper.

  2. Hill hold uses your abs system so you will need a diagnostic check on this system. one quick thing to look for is does your instrument cluster still know what gear your in, if a sensor has failed and it can’t detect you in gear then it also will not function as hill hold does not work in neutral

  3. If you can't see an obvious dipstick then it's almost certain that you have a really helpful bung instead of one. I got an adjustable dipstick for my Q5 as it didn't come with one and I prefer it to trusting an electronic sensor.

  5. Thanks David, not so much a refund, but to arrange with whoever serviced the car to sort the issue out. Can we take it there wasn’t this issue with it before it was serviced? Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. You need to ensure you top up p/ recheck the oil before taking it back.

  6. Hi mate. Turned out to be the crank sensor in my case. Pig of a thing to change, my car is the 2.0tdi ultra. if your going to change it, my top tip is unbolt the sensor with the plug still on. Fit the new sensor and then plug it in. An inspection camera helps. hope this helps, certainly cured mine.

  7. I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up as it could be a N issue with the sensor, wiring or module

  8. Apologies for the gripe, but the forum has recently suffered from a spate of what can be termed ‘Post and Run’ new members, who seem to think it’s perfectly acceptable to post a plea for help, and simply not return to view the help given. In a more diluted form, help is offered, but is very rarely acknowledged even via. a simple press of the Like button, leave alone a posted Thank You. The last part of the gripe is that we frequently have to ask for additional information, and this extra detail often never materialises. Please remember, everyone who posts replies do so without payment, but it certainly does cost them in time - in terms of the Moderators and Admin back up - a lot of time. So a special plea to all on here who post needing help:- please be respectful enough to acknowledge any help given, rather than simply accept it as a no-cost, no time of yours, free advice service. It’s wearing thin folks, so if you want to retain this service, please respect and acknowledge its benefits. Thank you all for reading this, and above all, agreeing to adhere to the respect that is needed to be shown. Kind regards, On behalf of the Moderators. Please note:- This request is to all members, not just new ones. p.s. Please avoid using non specific locations such as U.K., England etc. etc.

  9. Probably not relevant to your S3, but the headlights on my 2017 A3 can be adjusted for driving on the right via MMI. The dipped beam doesn't convert totally to LHD mode, but just flattens the left edge of the beam, but I've always found it adequate. http://www.instruccionesaudi.com/A3/en_GB/onboard/o_m00200.htm Apologies if you've already been through this, and found it doesn't apply to your car!
