We are a friendly and helpful bunch, sorry you feel we haven't been. Gareth offered advice on your tyre thread, as have I. You could try fitting a $12 aftermarket one the only issue could be with the quality. There have been cases where the dipstick has come away from the handle and dropped down. Is the one Audi wanting to sell you the same part number who've mentioned? I believe the ones for the other 3.0tdi should fit. Make sure it's for a gen 3 engine of the 3.0tdi. Gen 1 was found in the A6 C6 or similar. Gen 2 fitted to A6 c7 or similar. So gen 3 Is post 2018 I think. So if you're after a cheaper option than the dealer then might be worth looking for second hand ones on eBay from 2018 onwards 3.0tdi This link to this thread might help: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/q5-sq5-mkii-discussion-218/finally-sq5-dipstick-2999441/
  2. Latest update, ive now changed all 7 coil packs, and the issue is not resolved 🤔
  3. Just remembered, I did have a problem with the rear camera. It's voltage range was very limited, so it worked with the engine off but as soon as the engine was running the alternator was pushing the voltage up to high for the camera to cope and it would shut down. I ended up fitting a voltage regulator between the reversing lights and the camera to keep the voltage low enough.
  4. That's pretty much exactly what I put in my Q5, carplay unit and camera. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001100606264.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.172.16c018027OZuyF https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007387471729.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.167.16c018027OZuyF https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005604388149.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.152.16c018027OZuyF But like you say, they're probably all the same with a different branding on it. The carplay unit was really easy to intall, just unplug the cables from the screen and climate control units and plug in the new carplay harness between the car loom and the screen and climate controls. Camera was a little harder having to run the RCA cable from the boot lid but it just tucked under most of the trim. Once all fitted it worked straight away, no calibrations or coding required. Seller did email me an up to date firmware as well. I also fitted a front camera which would show after selecting Drive after Reversing, or by holding down the "back up" button on the centre console controls. I'd still have it fitted now but I missed a touchscreen so replaced it with this - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007550883275.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.56.16c018027OZuyF
  5. Which carplay unit are you looking at fitting? I fitted one from AliExpress to my Q5 when I first got it. The reversing camera just connected into the carplay unit and the carplay unit displayed everything on the cars oem screen, including all the reversing lines, and worked really well without any need for calibrations or VCDS coding.

Thanks for updating us, let's hope Audi Belfast get this sorted asap.

HI Gareth, no mate - car now into its 8th week at Audi Belfast. I've started the process this week of 'rejecting' the car with Audi Belfast and VWFS / Audi Financial services for a full refund. Really disappointed as I really liked the car too but it has left a bad taste now and I know I won't ever be happy with it. The dealers hands are tied with the lack of solution and they have been very helpful and in full communication but they cant get a software fix or patch from the factory. Seems to be affecting quite a few cars on this new A5 platform. There are several others there too but he wouldn't tell me how many. Interestingly, I was looking at an X3 in a completely separate BMW dealership down the road from them and the salesman said that 'he has heard that Audi are having lots of issues with their new models and the quality just isn't there...' I just said sure you all have problems at some stage and he said not like this - I hadn't even mentioned Audi or that I have one.
  8. Shame the cross climate 2 aren't recommend as they're supposed to be the best. Why are they not recommended? I think the other options are Nokian Remedy WRG5 Continental Allseasoncontact 2 Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 But is it worth you just having a set of winter wheels with tyres as having a tyre that is designed to work in all conditions means it has to make compromises so won't provide the ultimate performance possible when compared with a tyre designed to work as a summer or winter tyre. Any progress Dermot?
  11. Small update, I changed the air mass sensor and 1 coil pack on cylinder 1, i thought it had cured it, As i thought it sounded better upon 1st start up. But in the morning on cold start it was miss firing again the same as usual. I have ordered another 7 coipacks and will fit them tomorrow so i have 8 new 1s, IS there anything that jumps out to anyone, the fact that its bad on cold start up for 5 -10 mins, then it seems perfectly fine after it warms up, or gets a lot better . Would this point towards something in particular ?
  12. i learnt a normal scan tool wont find faults , a vcds scanner is for transmissions for Audi/skoda and vw, search around for someone to scan your car with a vcds scanner Audi wanted $250 for a 5 min job and my car for the day.
  13. vcds scanned 2x first time i said clear the codes so they did and i lost the code i needed so got it re vcds scanned got the code P096D/02413 as above.$48 Bought part no 3q0 713 128 US $100 +20 postage bought plastics levers $20 fitted it myself all fixed. searched the internet for 5 days didnt find any advice how to fix, the vcds scanner solved all my head aches
  14. The $24 diagnostic scan was vmcd or something silmilar for audi skoda that can diagnose trasmision problems, found the above code, got the part from ebay us $100
  15. Audi Australia was not very helpful, got annoyed with them. Fixed my car for $200 was pretty easy, my local car mart does diagnostics for $24. P096D/02413 Passive /Occasonal Switch for Selector Lever position P Lock f319, Implausible Signal as well as PRNDS flashing and reverse problem, all fixed without $1200 scanner part no 3q0 713 128, fitted it myself all problems are fixed, fixed for $200 instead of $1100
  16. Thanks for your response Christine. It's rare for any gratitude to be shown so I am sure Steve will be pleased.
  17. Hi (again) Steve. In anticipation of needing to find the unit in the car containing the satnav, I poked about in the glove box where the only 'unit' I could find lives (i.e. CD player). Guess what, there are two small ports, and from one a small 'chip' was hanging out. This is just below the CD player disc insert. I looked at it and guessed this could be my satnav 'data medium'. so I pushed it home into it's port, and (low and behold) my satnav is now working again. Amazing! Unfortunately, I suspect that the cars recent visit to an Audi main dealer was the cause, for some reason (and I am guessing here) they may have 'popped' it out and forgotten to replaced it. Anyway the satnav is working now. I so appreciate your response(s). It gave me confidence to 'have a go'. Thank you. Christine.
  18. Hello Sulaimaan, Where have you looked for service history? Would you be buying it from a dealer or privately? How long has the current registered owner owned it. Have you checked the on-line MOT histories? Have run run an HPI type check on it? I’ve just used VCheck at just £9.99 - very comprehensive report. Not sure about the 2.0 TFSi, but I believe 2011 was within the year band of skinny piston rings and high oil consumption. Please come back to us with some answers. Regards, Gareth.
  19. just seen on google mine should have red oil packs, at least i can now se how many have been changed
  20. well, The carbon clean was done today using hydrogen, Time will tell if this makes a difference as im still not really driving it. Although i think it may sound a bit better, The code reading date found lots of misfire codes etc, Upon reading the live data, The air mass meter was going crazy, So i ordered a new 1 today which comes on Monday, Im also going to probably replace the 8 coil packs, as it was showing a few codes for that. And somebody has changed a few as there is a mixture of red and black coils currently. What colour are oem meant to be , red or black ? The injectors all looked ok apparently, which is good Hopefully the air mass will solve it, with a combination of coil packs also. The plugs have been done so i wont change those for now unless the other bits dont work. If the air mass meter and coils solve it ill be happy. At least his not told me its 8 injectors lol The air mass sensor was a hard thing to get, GSF, euro car parts and others all listed it but nobody had it. Now has to come from Germany Roll on Monday
  21. I didn't know until earlier that kits were available to recharge/regas your car's air conditioning at home. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these kits and if they would recommend them?
  22. Hi Clifford, yes, I totally support what you're saying about environmental issues regarding releasing refrigerant into the atmosphere and wouldn't contemplate it if that was involved. It seems these kits only replace the gas lost over time through evaporation rather than purging the system of old gas. Also the kit comes with pipework, connectors, and a gauge to ensure the correct pressure is reached (I'll add a pic as an example). That said though I have the same sort of concerns as you, and also whether these kits are actually effective or just a waste of money as I don't always trust the reviews on seller's pages to be 100% genuine so I was wondering if any other members had tried one before.

Sorry mate, forgot to update this. Yes, the front actuator sorted the issues I was having with the front NS and as it was so cheap and a straightforward job I've got one for the rear NS too (not fitted yet) in the hope of sorting out a couple of issues with the rear interior lighting and an intermittent fault with the auto locking when you hit 15mph or so. I'll let you know if that solves it once I've fitted it.
