  1. Hi yes dual port motor that plugs in to the washer bottle via a rubber seal, sometimes the connector gets cruddy but not found one like that on an Audi yet, just failed motors as like with everything they have gone for the cheapest item they can find, as far as the relay clicking it wont do that if the motors dead. Steve.
  2. If you can hear or feel it click when energised it is definitely a working relay. If you can not hear or feel anything the question is still open what it is.
  3. Hey all. new and first time A3 owner. My choice of car is the A3 Etron 8v 65 plate. I believe to be the last year before facelift. I have to say I absolutely love the car. Very economical. Battery imo is still pretty good at around a 25 mile range. my particular one has the full black interior (inc headlining) seats are leather/alcantara. Adaptive cruise control automatic parking brake (some I viewed had the electronic brake but not the automatic function) I have added an aftermarket box so I can have the wireless car play. Other than that I’m not sure what was optional on the car. Auto lights/wipers full beam assist etc. really happy with the comfort and handling of the car. Not having owned a non hybrid version I can’t really compare. I have come from a mk7 golf GTI performance (manual) and have to say I’m really happy with the performance of this little hybrid. Currently waiting on some new wheels to arrive as the standard ms are in poor condition and I’m going to have them refurbished and set up with winter tyres. Whilst the other set will have summer tyres on. im not a social media user and much prefer a forum. Look forward to getting to know you
  4. Bear in mind that fuses blow for a reason -to protect the circuit, so if anything has blown, you will need to investigate why, rather than just putting another one in.
  5. Try fuse 19 , under bonnet 30 amp . But if the wipers are working??? Also look at fuse 4 inside the car .
  6. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂
  7. I think picture 4 is the relay rather than the fuse.

Hi folks I binned the a35 amg and bought myself a Q5 45 TFSI 2023 vorsprung model Navarro blue 3400 miles. Absolutely love it
  9. To answer that specific question, there is a small possibility that the timing belt has jumped a tooth on its sprocket and the engine has stopped in time to avoid damaging any valves, so the garage is hoping that a new belt plus retiming the engine will solve the problem. In reality there is a much bigger chance that either several teeth have been jumped or the belt has broken causing valves to hit the piston crowns. As for the other comments on belt life, I too believe it was a grave mistake for Audi to change its recommendations. VAG is not alone in making this sort of mistake. Look at the problems caused by Ford and others who have changed from dry belts to wet belts in an effort to eliminate an expensive crankshaft seal.
  10. I think that'd be your best bet. Putting a cambelt on it won't help in my opinion and could do further damage. They removed the 5 year rule a few years ago which I think is ridiculous. Also £1k for a cambelt is very expensive too.
  11. hi paul, sorry to hear about your situation and hope you get satisfaction at some stage of this whole process,i just want to commend you on the way youve gone about this from the start and you certainly deserve better treatment from audi/vw group. if its any consolation its the very same here in ireland with the way they treat customers, the brand name has really gone down the pan in the last few years.i wish you the best of luck and hopefully all the effort you put into this will pay off eventually.Greg
  12. Hi Gareth, Please do use my case for warnings across this forum. The German reputation for sound engineering was hard earned and well deserved for most of my lifetime. Some dark forces took hold across VW Group with the software cheating on emissions. Not as deadly as cheating fire safety on ACM panels on blocks of flats, but still shows a rotten culture. This culture has most likely descended throughout the group and infected the production quality of Audi. The VW Group’s financial issues reflect their loss of market share and mistiming and abject failure to get the right price point for EVs. Audi and even VW Group may head the same way as Saab. Several of the Audi UK Customer Services staff I dealt with didn’t even know what the timer/cam belt was or did. However, they all had the same scrip to follow in their dealings with me. Their training is based on demonstrating empathy. But it’s basically false and just a poor attempt to seem friendly and professional when they have ‘difficult customers’. I’ve made a subject access request under the GDPR and Data Protection Act. I’ll shall find out what they have been saying about me and my case within across Audi. This will cost them a few thousand pounds of management time too. I have also reported the case to their independent whistleblower department in Germany and advised Audi that as a manufacturer they have duties of care relating to taking all steps necessary to check on the safety of components- especially if there is systemic issue that could impact on road safety. Component efficacy is also an issue of merchantable quality under The Sales of Goods Act. I will be applying a legal claim against Yeovil Audi in the first instance as a breach of this level of expected quality inherent in how they market their cars. They can then enjoin Audi UK as required. When I know the extend of the engine damage I’ll make the call on whether to sell as a non-runner or do the repairs. I’m looking out for another car too. Certainly not an Audi nor VW!
