  1. You may be better off having the existing rack overhauled to avoid any mismatch from secondhand units. There are many companies specialising in this work to be found by an internet search.

Booing or booming? Either way I hear nothing unusual. Unfortunately that is all too common on audio recordings sent to the forum. You can hear the strange noise because your ears and brain are attuned to it; but the rest of us can not. Unless you can make a better recording with less background noise you will need to rely on words to describe it.
  3. Hi Steve, As it seems a you’re the only person that actually bothered. I’ve fixed it. After changing the MAP sensor (sorry I didn’t mention petrol), and looking at everything VCDS chucked up I finally thought that my other halves pedestrian driving might be at fault, so disconnected the waste gate sprayed the linkage with WD40 and and went about manually opening and closing the WG after doing this for a while, I reconnected the waste gate and recalibrated by turning the rod whilst watching the VCDS actual output to get the voltage to 3.633v. Then a bit of HT copper grease, and the fault hasn’t come back, so I’m guessing it was lack of use. I got a clue because Audi Canada were sued in a class action lawsuit suit because of turbos failing, they said it was due to cars not being driven aggressively, the average cost was £3000, so I though I’d at least try. Thanks for joining in I really do appreciate it, and I’ve posted a reply because usually when there’s a fix we’re all left hanging Thanks Brian
  4. I would start with the rear screen lines and attenna boosters that are fitted behind the tailgate trims also checking the wiring that passes from vehicle body to tailgate as it’s constantly flexing
  5. Hi thank you for the reply we don't often get many of them which makes you a valued member, petrol driven cars are a different operating system therefore the mass airflow I believe is calculated by one of the sensors on the Cat so that would explain why my answers were diesel related as that's all I have ever owned for the last twenty years, morbid fear of excessive oil consumption I suppose, but well done on the proactive fix and for the sake of some time and two pence worth of chemicals its a good result. Steve.
  6. Thanks both for the helpful tips and advice. Weather wasn't on my side but I had a window of about 40mins without rain so I removed the door card and had a quick look around. I can get access to the LHS by removing the black rubber membrane but the RHS is behind the speaker which seems to be bonded as well as Torx screw fixed in place. The cable on the LHS section of the regulator is still in place but doesn't feel particularly tight. I can manually push up the window the final 10mm or so but it doesn't stay in place - resulting in a whistling noise when the AC is on and I can also hear the road outside when driving. Quote from Audi for a replacement is £200+ and then obv labour ontop if I go the garage. MOT due next week so it might be a case of seeing if it passes that and then having the work done. Thanks again! David
  7. The range shown on the dash is a guestimate based on how you last drove the car, the temperature and remaining battery charge. I only ever work from the %age charge and the average consumption on the journey I’m on. To be honest, my previous ICE wasn’t a lot more accurate. I charged mine to 90% on Friday night, and it showed a range of 180 miles as Friday had been a couple of short journeys around town in traffic. Drove 154 miles, mostly motorway at 70 ish mph and still had 33% charge left on Saturday night. Temp was around 5-7 degrees. Would have a safe 70 miles left, and a nervous 80 or so. in summer I think I should get close to 300 miles range.
  8. Apologies for the gripe, but the forum has recently suffered from a spate of what can be termed ‘Post and Run’ new members, who seem to think it’s perfectly acceptable to post a plea for help, and simply not return to view the help given. In a more diluted form, help is offered, but is very rarely acknowledged even via. a simple press of the Like button, leave alone a posted Thank You. The last part of the gripe is that we frequently have to ask for additional information, and this extra detail often never materialises. Please remember, everyone who posts replies do so without payment, but it certainly does cost them in time - in terms of the Moderators and Admin back up - a lot of time. So a special plea to all on here who post needing help:- please be respectful enough to acknowledge any help given, rather than simply accept it as a no-cost, no time of yours, free advice service. It’s wearing thin folks, so if you want to retain this service, please respect and acknowledge its benefits. Thank you all for reading this, and above all, agreeing to adhere to the respect that is needed to be shown. Kind regards, On behalf of the Moderators. Please note:- This request is to all members, not just new ones. p.s. Please avoid using non specific locations such as U.K., England etc. etc.
