Another DPF post
Don't forget this is now part of the MOT check. You can remove it but they will check for it on the MOT. Some people fit dummy DPF units (e.g. with no internals) but this is of course at your own risk...

Audi A3 5 Point Star Locking Wheel Adapter
HI Nathan, personally I would be looking to get this sorted by the supplying dealer. The dealer should have supplied the locking wheel nut. You could either get a key from Audi if it is an Audi locking wheel nut (it might not be) and they can match it or worst case scenario a tyre place may have to weld something on to get them off.

Headlight issue
Are they xenon lights or normal halogens? I would probably start with figuring our what the warning light is.... is it for the bubs? I would also perhaps look at changing the bulbs to see if that is the issue?

Cable for iPod Classic or Iphone 3gs
The cigarette lighter will only charge as it is not connected to the audio system. The only other thing you could do with the cigarette lighter is use an FM transmitter but these aren't fantastic solutions to be honest. Are you sure you don't at least have an aux in socket? The other option would be Audi AMI but you need the port (could be £430 option you mentioned?).

no lights............ help?
Can I just ask are they original factory fitted xenon lights or are they an aftermarket kit?

winding noise in reverse
Hi Calvin welcome to AOC Is the noise only in reverse? If so, it's common to get a whining noise in reverse but without hearing the noise it's difficult to tell if this is normal or not. Perhaps you could upload a video?

Advice on noise!
Any luck with this over Christmas?

Noisey start
I think the most well known cause of this is the dual mass flywheel on the multitronic gearbox. Also I have seen some people talk about the battery which I thought was odd, although apparently it's something to do with the injectors not opening. I reckon it's most likely the flywheel though...

AUDI A4 2011, Technik 2011 start stop, 75k
Adam, perhaps it's worth getting the car checked out at a garage of your choice, or even a dealer rather than where the place you got it from send it? Just to make sure...

Hi Newbie Question - New Into Old Does It Go?
Hi Kaie, Welcome to AOC My Wife's uncle just bought one of the last old shape R8s - a late 2014 model and it's a beautiful car. I have seen the interior of the new car and it is very different to his. I don't know for sure but I'd have thought that being a whole new car (new body panels etc) it will be too different to fit and I would guess that many of the fixings/fastenings will be in different places. Perhaps certain elements may fit (seats?) but you may have to try one part of the interior at a time before committing. The other problem I can see you facing would be availability of parts with it being such a new car - assuming you were going to try and source second hand parts?

Multitronic gearbox issue
You could try talking to an Audi specialist in your area and see if they have any recommendations?

AUDI A4 2011, Technik 2011 start stop, 75k
Is that the official combined MPG provided by Audi? If so, it's quite common for those MPG figures to be a little off across all makes not just Audi - although 35mpg does seem a bit low. I would expect more like low 40's... Those figures are produced in a lab which doesn't really replicate normal driving conditions. As for your warranty, technically the supplying garage is liable for any faults that were there at the time of sale for 6 months according to the law. Sounds like they're trying to sort it for you though?

Advice on noise!
I'd have guessed CV joint same as you. Just randomly on the off chance it's not something fouling the wheel/tyre when cornering?

AUDI A4 2011, Technik 2011 start stop, 75k
I'm assuming it's not under warranty with Audi themselves then? I suppose the only thing you could do is offer to pay the difference for the genuine part but depends if you want to fork out £700 on it when it's under warranty anyway - I'm assuming probably not?

Advice please!
Sorry to hear this Alan - sounds like bad timing with routine maintenance clashing with a few problems Has the car been fairly reliable up until now?

Multitronic gearbox issue
Erik unfortunately the gearbox ECU is a very common fault (among other things) with the multi tronic gearboxes on Audi - so probably is that

Newbie
Hi Erik, welcome Your A4 looks nice by the way. Always a big fan of silver when clean. The petrol station lights do help though of course... always love taking a clean car under the lights lol

Repair cost?
Fair enough - well the advisory items don't sound too bad to be honest. It's hard to say exactly how much it would cost because it depends on lots of things. To get a rough idea try pricing up the parts on somewhere like Euro Car Parts and then adding a bit for labour - maybe 2 to 3 hours?
