Interesting project - have you managed to find a pair of the lights as I imagine they cost a fortune from Audi? Don't forget to make it 100% legit you will also need the headlight washers and auto levelling to work so not exactly a straightforward upgrade!

Make sure it has good service history and has been a well cared for car. They can suffer with the usual diesel issues but as with anything, sometimes you seem to get lucky and get a good one, sometime you don't.

Assuming you've tried the obvious online auction site?

If you stick with a decent brand you should be fine. Just avoid the cheap and nasty ones. I've always liked Yuasa personally but that's just my preference...
