Hi Anthony...welcome to the Forum I suppose the bigger diesel engine is the more desirable one to get if you are towing but also the gross vehicle weight is more in line with towing a larger caravan, if this is what you are looking to do. Like any car, it is always desirable to ensure that the maintenance has been regularly carried out in accordance with manufacturers recommendations and using quality parts then you shouldn't have any major issues. A lengthy warranty is also a bonus. Good to have you onboard Cheers . Trevor

Hi Simon Sounds like the door switches could be faulty. Not sure if they are external....e.g. on the doo pillar and the door depresses the switch when closed, or alternatively, they are internal in the door latch mechanism. If the latter then maybe some electrical contact cleaner sprayed into the latch mechanism area may produce some results, worth a try I reckon. Let us know what you find

Hi Mo....welcome to the Forum From experience, I would say that the 1.6 manual is more than sufficient to provide the 'driveability' that you are looking for. Equally, it is a reliable engine and provides a pretty decent MPG in return. Let us know how you get on with finding a good one. Cheers, Trevor

Hi Andrew Thanks for your suggestions, some of which are already in existence or in the pipeline. The levels of membership already include a membership card which will in time, offer discounts through Audi dealerships but just not at this present time, as we need more dealerships on board to initially launch this service. However, there are numerous discounts available to Premium Members which include motoring, leisure and a host of other savings to be had. Also, Premium Members receive a Halfords Discount Card which offers 15% off everything instore. Reviews are already in some sections but not all and would always welcome reviews from Members for any services and products relating to Audi and motoring in general. You are right Gareth, they were good cars of the period and by the end of their life as a UK Manufacturer they had just about got there in terms of quality and value. Apart from the K Series Head Gasket debacle and also the inappropriate slating from the media (mainly Top Gear) it went downhill from there really, which was an awful shame.

I owned a garage business specialising in MG Rover (for my sins) and we were an Independent Authorised Repairer which means although we weren't a dealer for new cars we were part of the repair network and also parts supplier. I do wonder if it is a similar case with the Audi repairer....probably all Audi VW trained Technicians anyway
