  1. Thanks for that information Joe. We have been trying recently to investigate why some folk do not have names attached to their profiles, and logging in via Google was a suspect. You have now confirmed that the suspicion was right, which we shall pass on to the forum administrator.
  2. Have you tried Audi?
  3. If any of the regulars here knew the answer to your question it is likely he would have replied by now. Give it a few more days, then be prepared to look elsewhere.
  4. I have never done this, but if you look at recent forum topics other folk have flushed their channels successfully with warm water. One fellow even used drain cleaner, though the corrosion risk would be too great for my liking.
  5. Is the handbrake really faulty, or is the battery defective?
  6. Is that sunroof the fixed or opening type? Opening sunroofs have rain drainage channels or pipes which can become blocked.
  7. Dampening valve of what? Some details of what you are doing might help.
  8. Agreed. I am getting fed up with time wasters.
  9. Sorry, I can't help on that score.
  10. Being an eternal cynic I'd say the reason is that it will cost the company money, and Audi, like all commercial companies, exists to make money. In the long term it may damage Audi's reputation, but reputation is not an entry on the company's balance sheet.
  11. Perhaps a map colour setting in the menu.
  12. I don't understand the dilemma. If you want to maintain original condition, fit Audi original parts.
  13. What can anybody tell you except their personal preferences, prejudices and hearsay? My suggestion is that you read some professional reviews, then try a few cars for yourself, before making up your own mind.
  14. We can but try. Post your questions, preferably one at a time, in the relevent forum section and see who responds.
  15. As you know from your own involvement in this forum, most members are only interested in solving their own particular problem without a thought to giving anything in return, so it's always refreshing to see somebody return and offer their experiences. Regarding the hit-and-miss musty damp air, have you checked that the condensate outlet from the heat exchanger is open? It is supposed to allow the condensed water to drain out, but can become blocked with dirt, leaves, mould etc. leading to damp air air or even water in the cabin. I have no idea where it is on a A6 or what it looks like, but there will be one. The outlet on the Ford I had many years ago was a steel pipe with a split rubber bulb on the end. The idea was for the split to open under the weight of water, and then close of its own accord, though I daresay many different designs will exist.
  16. When you let us know the outcome next week, please also add your name to your profile.
  17. What a bizarre response from your garage. I suggest you find a garage that might be interested in investigating the fault and earning some money, preferably not an Audi dealer.
  18. If you have not yet completed your profile with your Name, Location, Audi Model and Year then please supply this information so we can best assist you with your question.
  19. Has the refrigerant gas ever been topped up? It does leak out over time.
  20. Sorry Chris, I will not download anything from untrusted sources. If you would care to put it on Youtube or the like I will be happy to listen to it.

Alternatively one could find the same information with a few key presses: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=audi+a1+boot+dimensions&ia=web
  22. No apologies needed. Your English is infinitely better than my Albanian.
  23. It does not sound to me like a dashboard rattle, though it is hard to be sure from a recording. To my ears it sounds like an exhaust noise.
  24. Very possibly. If the CV joints are worn they will click when: 1. The accelerator pedal is pressed (only Americans call it a gas pedal). 2. When the accelerator pedal is released quickly at speed. 3. When the steering wheel is turned to, or close to, full lock. Of course the noise may be caused by something else, but it makes sense to check the most likely fault first, so look at the CV joints and let us know what you find.
  25. Now this is odd. I see nothing whatsoever in Peter's post. It is completely blank, yet Magnet can clearly see some text.
