  1. Is it really a threaded screw rather than a ribbed press stud? I ask because I see no slot or shape to the head by which to drive it.
  2. Those readings have little relevence, so you could indeed have a faulty battery. The symptoms you report are consistent with a dying battery which can not provide the stable power supply needed by the car's electronics. If it is the original eight year old battery I suggest you replace it as soon as practical, and ensure you get it coded to the car. See this for an explanation why: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJAScg6JrYI
  3. Can you get more headroom by tilting the seats forwards?
  4. Thanks for the update and the humour.
  5. Don't just consider it, do it.
  6. Thanks for belatedly letting us know.
  7. It might help us to help you if you told us more about the engine. Details like fuel, capacity, service history, are important to anybody trying to diagnose a fault. A more complete description of the problem is also essential.
  8. I doubt that reading data would be a problem; altering data would be a different matter.
  9. Diesel EGR coolers have a reputation for leaking coolant and blowing back to the reservoir.
  10. You have not mentioned whether it is diesel or petrol fuelled.
  11. There should be no significant wear after a mere 50000 miles, so the whine indicates something is amiss. I suggest you get the car assessed by an independant VAG specialist. Don't go to an Audi dealer who will either tell you the noise is normal or try to sell you a hugely expensive new transmission.
  12. Was Richard's response of use to you Jax?
  13. "Sealed for life" does not mean immune to wear. How many miles has it done?
  14. Agreed. Any fault with a new car shoud be referred straight back to the dealer.
  15. I would not know if it is a recognised problem, but I would be concerned about it in your place. If the water is not coming off the road surface it must be leaking from the car. Perhaps somebody more knowledgeable will chip in.
  16. Had you been driving on a wet road just prior to parking?
  17. You can advertise on this forum, but I doubt it has the coverage of Ebay or Autotrader etc.
  18. In a word, yes. The battery does indeed need to be coded to the car. See this for an explanation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJAScg6JrYI
  19. If one top mount had worn out it would not surprise me if the other has gone the same way, and if that is the case I would expect the rest of the transmission and suspension components to be showing signs of wear. It's all a little odd on a car that is only seven years old.

You may well be right for all I know, but the issue at stake is who has responsibility for correcting it. Audi will undoubtedly deny responsibilty, so what are you going to do?

Barbara please do not create a new topic when there is an existing one that matches your own subject.

As far as I know there is no sensible limit to the number of posts per topic. Realistically, until somebody discovers and posts a solution to the problem all one can do is add "me too" posts to increase the weight of evidence against Audi, and therefore is worthwhile even if there is no response. It seems to me, as somebody who is unaffected by the problem, that Audi, as the vendor of the affected equipment, has responsibilty for its faults no matter which subcontractor made the radio for them. That is my interpretation of the Sale Of Goods Act 1979, and its successor the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

I am merging this thread with the existing thread. There is no point in having two topics with identical subjects.
  24. How about considerably more description Andrew. There's no charge for the advertisement so the better the description, the better your chances of a sale.
  25. Liam. Look at recent forum history to find dozens of similar complaints.
