  2. Does anyone know the part number for the MMI unit from a 2013 A6 Allroad? It's the 245bhp variant if that makes any difference. I've got currently got a replacement unit from an A7 (I'll spare the back story) that is mostly compatible but cannot be recoded to match the car, and has an open circuit which means the centre console strip with start/stop, parking sensor etc does work. It also has put an airbag warning light on the dash so won't be able to pass an MOT until it's replaced. Unfortunately I do not have access to the car's original unit to check the part number. Any recommendations of where to source a second hand unit outside of ebay would also be greatly appreciated. I'm looking into aftermarket carplay type units as an alternative to replacing OEM but from what I can tell these still plug into the existing MMI unit? Thanks For reference the pic attached is the kind of part I'm trying to source
  3. Any updates or replies to questions Leo?
  4. Most certainly does 😉
  5. Will do!
  6. Thanks for the above responses. I tried again to remove the sensor with the help of youtube videos. I was successful this time and was able to fit the new part myself. Fault message was removed automatically as suggested by the video and all is good. I did not have to get a diagnostic test. I understand Audi is aware of this common problem and have since modified the part. I hope this is of assistance to anyone having the same issue.
  7. Welcome Phil? - if it is Phil, could you please add this to your profile. Try LLL Parts website. Please let us know how you get on. Kind regards, Gareth.
  8. I totally agree with Gareth on this, unless you have access to a very good workshop manual. If you get it wrong broken trim can be surprisingly expensive to replace, and very ugly if you don't.
  9. I was thinking more fluxcompassador myself !
  10. Good shout Steve. I’ll look into that 👍
  11. Fantastic result guys. Thsnks for keeping this one updated. hopefully it will help somebody in the future

  13. Some might know its not particularly easy or cheap to get Apple Car Play into a 8V , A3. I successfully achieved killing two birds with one stone here ... bridged the ugly gap underneath the climate controls and have fully functioning car play in the bargain ... Ok ive lost my cup holders, which i never actually used anyway and the none slip matting is a temporary measure until the drinks holder caps arrive
  14. keep us posted on how it goes Gill
  15. We can see you have returned to the forum within the last hour or so, so can you now add to/ clarify your post please?
  16. Hey thanks for all the info. Still looking but a lot clearer on what's what now
  17. I'm highly confident it's cambelt.
  18. I'd consider either the headlight switch or the indicator stalks/relay.
  19. Mine’s back too. Spooky!
  20. OK, AutoCarPart1 (4592) in Brum has a pair £146.82 incl delivery.....does this sound reasonable? There are MUCH cheaper on Ebay but I thought a mid range price would be fairly safe.....should I be asking myself "what are you like" or am I probably OK with these? Thoughts welcome.
  21. Hi its under the thin one. It looks like a bracket mounted to the side of the engine. It has 2 bolts holding it on and looks like it may have a gasket. Thanks.
  22. Can anyone help please? I have had a full service done on my audi a6 2015 and the break pads sensor came up after 2 days the sensor turned off and the engine light came on. Went to a garage they scanned the car and it came up with maf sensor, so i got that replaced and they removed the engine light but after 10-15miles of driving it came back on, went again to the garage and same thing came up maf sensor.
  23. Hi everyone, I recently bought a 2023 A4 Avant 2.0 TFSI (left-side drive). Since I live in an area where car thefts are not that unusual, I want to make sure the car is not startable. Logistically I am fine with pulling the relays and/or fuses every time since the car will not be driven every day and is in a garage. Could you guys provide some opinions on the following ideas: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fuel-Pump control unit fuse -> Fuse 16 in ST1 in Relay and fuse carrier 1 -SR1- with fuse holder B -SB (Drivers foot support) This fuse is relatively easy to access (one screw) and should disable the fuel pump. Car will crank but no start. Starter Relay(s) -> R2 and R3 in Relay and fuse carrier 3 -SR3 Not sure how easy this is to access but from the picture in "fitting locations" it does not look too complicated. I also don't get it why are there two starter relays. Is one for the motor and one for the solenoid? If those relays are out car will not crank but the fuel pump will flood the cylinders. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Correct me if I'm wrong, but there shouldn't be any negative effects for the car by letting it sit for a couple of days without any of those fuses/relays. And did I find the correct fuses and locations for wanted effects? audi-a4-2015-fitting-locations-eng (1).pdf audi-a4-2015-wiring-diagrams-eng (1).pdf
  24. Thanks Brian, i will. 👍
  25. Hi all, the clutch on my 1.4 A4 seems really high. It doesn’t seem to be slipping, but if I do a spirited launch from standstill then there’s a squealing metallic sound from the engine bay just while the clutch is slipping until fully engaged. Doesn’t do it at low power takeoffs. Considering the mental cost of doing the clutch on these cars I’m considering whether I should gamble that it could go on like this for a long time or move it on before it fails. Could any fellow owners let me know if a high clutch biting point is normal on the 1.4?
