  2. Hey Guys, First time on this forum! I bought an A6 C8 in August 2024, everything seemed well until I noticed a huge puddle behind the drivers seat footwell a few weeks ago. It appears its the same/similar problem everyone is also experiencing, took it to Audi Manchester a few days ago for a check - £145 an hour! they said they needed another 8-10 hours to remove the seats and carpet to identify the leak!! Decided not to pay the £1400 minimum and took the car home. My issue is exactly the same as Mandeep. Will be taking it to an independant garage for a diagnosis (cheaper labour rate) In the meantime drafted a letter to send to Audi head office, I will paste it below in case anyone else needs to use the draft etc Going off all the posts above i'm sure Audi are aware of the issue, whether they will honour the repair remains to be seen, but not holding my breath. I will report back once I have had a response from head office. Dear Audi Customer Services, I hope this message finds you well. My name is ******* *****, and I am reaching out to formally raise an issue with my Audi A6 C8, which I believe stems from a known design flaw. I have been experiencing water pooling under the carpet in the rear footwell, specifically behind the driver’s seat. After conducting some research, I discovered that this is a common problem among Audi A6 C8 owners, and Audi has issued a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) outlining the issue as a design fault. You can view the TSB here: TSB - Audi A6 C8 Water Leak Additionally, I came across this thread on the Audi Owners Club, where other owners have reported the same issue: Discussion Thread - Audi Owners Club This issue is one that Audi is already aware of, and it has even led to a class action lawsuit against the company, specifically related to the water leaks in the Audi A6 C8. This highlights the extent of the problem and reinforces that it is not an isolated issue, but a design flaw that has affected many owners. Despite this being a known problem, I recently paid £152 for a diagnostic check at Manchester Audi, yet they were unable to identify the source of the leak. However, based on my online findings, the TSB issued by Audi, and the class action lawsuit, it is clear that this is not an isolated incident and is related to a design issue, rather than something I have caused or neglected. I am aware that Audi has previously honoured this issue and, on occasion, has fixed the problem free of charge for affected customers. Given that this is a design flaw and not an error on my part, I kindly request that Audi UK address the issue in a similar manner, as a goodwill gesture. I trust that Audi UK will stand by the quality of its vehicles and rectify this issue without further delay. I would appreciate a swift resolution and look forward to your prompt response. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope this letter helps someone who may need it.

  4. So, I took the car out for an eight or nine-mile trip today - to get some breakfast... ...which was very pleasant. On the way home, in addition to the DPF light (which had been on from the get-go), I got the flashing glow-plug light, shortly followed by the check engine light. The triumvirate of misery... ☹️ When I got home, I plugged Carly in, and after 20 minutes or so, got the following result: The Smart Mechanic says: ...and goes on to say... So, it doesn't tell me much more than the light on the dash. My DPF is clogged and isn't re-genning as it should. No clue as to why... 🤔 It mentions a control unit - anyone know what/where this is please? Thanks, Mike 😎
  5. Reg. You have not said whether the window movement is random or erratic. Is it possible the windows actually need to move out of the way when the hood is raised and lowered?
  6. There seem to be a lot of unknown factors in this conversion Steve, any one of which could bring the project to a dead stop. It is not something I would have taken on even 40 years ago when I was willing and able to get my hands dirty, unless there was certainty about the result.
  7. Once again I can only hear broken audio so all I can suggest is to take the car back for diagnosis.
  8. Anyone know where to locate the brake servo sensor?
  9. Glad you had it done and it's made the car nicer. Well done for getting the gearbox remapped too as this often gets overlooked.
  10. ‘Evangelical’ Spartacus!?
  11. Will have a look at the wires you suggested, Watch this space will let you know.
  12. Apologies I've only just seen this. I still have the A6 but no further forward to be honest. They definitely become a labour of love. The issue I've found with the 2.5tdi V6 is parts availablity for the engine now. How are you getting on with yours?
  13. Ideally you'll need a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. It might also be worth contacting Audi to see if there's a software update available for the mmi.

  15. Example for the Audi A6 2019 (MY2020). Part list as it did not fit on the screen grab.
  16. Wasted advice I'm afraid Steve. Swansea has not been back to the forum since posting his question.
  17. Yes, no issues again today. I'll see how it goes, will let you know if there's any further developments. Rgds, Rich
  18. Pd engine is a very reliable engine. Check for mayo round the oil filler. Might be worth getting the engine pressure tested. Obviously worse case scenario is a head gasket.
  19. Sorry to hear this. If the warranty company are refusing to honour the unlimited labour rate then I'd argue this is warranty has been miss sold. So the dealer is partly responsible for this. I'd open a case with the motoring ombudsman but you'll be waiting 4 months for a case to be assigned.
  20. So all we now need to know is exactly what has been replaced at the various services and when.
  21. I had mine plugged it don't really come up with much they are saying it's a electrical fault between gearbox and brain of car
  22. Thanks Steve, Ill let you know how I get on.
  23. You didn’t let us know what tyre brands are currently fitted Frank. Have you checked the listed noise rating on them? How much tread is left, since tyres generally get noisier as they wear? You really do need to give us all the information- problem and what you have already done to try to solve it, otherwise we will end up suggesting you do what you have already done - again. Regards, Gareth.
  24. At least you can rule out the battery. It might be worth getting a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up
  25. You'll need a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. But I'd say it could be the megatronics unit.

  27. Hi all new to club I would like to share my findings with you all on what has happened with my Fsi so far. I bought it cheap as it has/had a misfire and lack of power. I found the inlet flap actuator was missing (GREAT) I thought 😭 Previous owner drove it for 18 months like this until misfire started. Anyway I started of with plugs and coils and injection cleaner still had a miss. Now the interesting bit it never had the start up clatter that 90% of fsi owners report until yesterday after a short drive I started it again to drive it into the garage I was met with quite a clatter for a couple of seconds or so it settled into a nice idle strange I thought it even reved nicely so I take it for another short drive it went like a rocket all the lack of power and missing had gone😃😃 I am a bit stumped as the only codes I had were for the inlet flaps and multiple misfires Now I am thinking was the cam variator stuck and then freed itself any thoughts on this???
  28. I believe so.
