  5. Fantastic work, hope you can get it back this week and enjoy it 🙂
  6. As Dave has said it's often a loose wire under the passenger seat.
  7. Welcome Kenny, but please give us some more information for members to go with. Could you please describe the problem you are having? Regards, Gareth.
  8. A little update for you guys. New clutch is fitted, spent about 12 hours all in with two people over two days. Went off without a hitch! Taking off the old clutch made the cause of the noise readily apparent; two of three metal straps holding the pressure plate together was broken! This caused a rough idle and an ungodly rattle with the clutch pedal depressed. Lifted the car by the gearbox side motor mount with an engine lifter and put it on tall jack stands, removed the battery and battery tray. Next we unbolted the wheel well cowling(?)/plastic and the lower control arm for the bushings on the drivers side (Norway so LHD not RHF) so we had space to pull the driveshaft out completely, right hand side driveshaft only need unbolting from the gearbox. After all the bits and bobs on the gearbox was out we dropped it from the bottom with one person underneath. This was a bit finicky but it was enough space to do it without too much trouble. Gearbox oil changed, new clutch slapped on. We didn’t have the tool to compress/pretension the pressure plate so we used a simple centering tool and gradually torqued the screws to 20nm in typical zig zag fashion. With me lying on a creeper/roller and the gearbox on my chest lifted the gearbox and mated it back to the engine with the other person standing above the engine bay and lifting from there. This wasn’t super easy, but a bit of finessing and manouvering of the gearbox did the trick. Highly recommend being two for this job, especially for the mounting and dismounting of the gearbox. The 12 hours includes coffee breaks, googling stuff and a trip to the local parts store. For the algorithm: This was done on a manual 2013 Audi A3 8V 1.4 TFSI CMBA 122bhp engine, gearbox code is MYF/0AJ.

  10. Looking at it closely I think it's just staining and not actually a deep crack , it's like the edges of wet staining. The car is driving to well for me to believe that the gearbox is cracked, When I look there is no sign of oil leaking down from the marks . That surly would suggest that it's not leaving oil out .

  14. Hi guys, this is my first time joining, and my first time posting. Definitely won’t be my last time. This is because I just recently picked up an Audi a4 B8 saloon 2008 and I’m loving it apart from some problems which I’m trying to solve. I do things myself DIY, and I need guidance for this issue. I will attach a link from my YouTube with this issue. Whenever I turn the wheel I hear a clunk from inside the car I’m not sure what it is. I’ve read multiple different opinions based on what it is but I’m hoping for some more help. Any help would be so appreciated. Thank you so much. I’m still getting used to this platform so if I take time responding, please bear with me thanks again guys
  15. Hello Frank, Well worth searching EBay. Please let us know how you get on. Regards, Gareth.
  16. I’m still learning “to drive” this forum and don’t know how to search it yet lol
  17. Smiles your not wrong it already looks so much better happy days
  18. Thanks Brian, Autodoc has had mention in relation to the supply of incorrect parts. I’ve never been affected by this, because I don’t buy from them, preferring not to pay highish postage charges compared with other suppliers. Regards, Gareth.
  19. Absolutely Martin - it’s your car, and you are free to do with it what you will, and my feeling is that any advice given ( when asked for) which doesn’t concur with your views, will be ignored. I certainly won’t be chasing you again for a thread-closing update, since I feel the tread will remain as ‘unsolved’ anyway.
  20. Glad you got it sorted out.
  21. Its with an auto electrician atm so I'll let him know to double check that Thanks buddy ill let you know if it works or what the issue was otherwise Best Saad
  22. So an update on readings. Been back out to do a better job of recording voltages. Multimeter on car ground to the following pins: with ignition on but not running Pin 1- 4.98v Pin 2- 0v Pin 3- 12.19v Multimeter on car ground to the following pins: car running Pin 1- 4.99v Pin 2- 0v Pin 3- 14.37v - 14.45v when rev'd Variance between pins 1 and 3 - 9.3v And pins 2 and 3 - 14.4v All seems normal yet something blows the maf sensor. Could the Multimeter response time be insufficient to pick up voltage transients? What am I missing here? If anyone could provide their voltage readings as a comparison it would be appreciated. If anyone has any ideas of what to look at next, that'd also be appreciated. Would different measurement equipment be more suitable? Oscilloscope?
  23. Does anybody know the paint code for the Matt Metallic Grey Lower Skirt on the 2016 8V. I can't find a reference to this on any of the documentation. I assume this is a standard colour across all body colours? My body colour is Monsoon Grey.
  24. Good luck Tom, hope it's nothing too expensive/serious, let us know how you get on mate.
  25. Agreed, and no apology needed Gareth.
  26. Hello! I have a manual 6 speed Audi A4 B8 2.0 TDI Quattro from 2012, its the facelifted version. I have enabled with VCDS the drive-select function on the MMI (MMI 3G) , but only Comfort and Individual modes are selectable. I have watched a video about this, it seems like the guy in the video enables an adaptation in 09 with a security key, which is 20113 , my VCDS software also tells me that the security key to unlock adaptation features in that module is 20113 , but if I type it in and press the "Do it!" button it gives me an error code , "Security key not authorised! , Error: Unknown (00) (0x00)" or something like this , and I can't enable multiple modes. (I know that it won't do anything I just want the interface of the driveselect in my car to look like and feel like an audi that has it.) Thank you in advance for the help! Kind regards, David.
  27. Please do, as this question crops up from time to time.
  28. Same here. I've never had a car with so many chips. Tried repairing one. Didn't really work. They're not big enough to claim on insurance. Have to just ignore them
