  2. So progress has been made thanks to a friend of a friend who knows an ex Audi Master Technician. It appears the issues are well known. He got me to remove the battery negatives , leave the car 30 minutes, reconnect and try again. Did this and now the car is working perfectly, it charges, reports correct battery levels, all back to how it was before it went to the Audi dealership. He called it the Control Alt Delete fix. So for now I have a working charging system.
  3. I think it will be on a sticker in your handbook pack which gives the car spec ?
  4. Thanks so much, Gareth. In the end I rang the garage and he thinks he can do it on Monday morning. So very different from the days when you just undid the terminals and replaced the battery.
  5. My coolant expansion bottle keeps emptying after about 6/7 miles, I suspected a leaky bottle cos I'd had that problem before but I changed it and it's still happening. Now I'm looking at the oil and it's not good, can someone confirm head gasket failure? Or another explanation for what's happening? Cheers Duane

    Um.
  8. I fitted the audi factory reverse camera complete with all cabling myself (from audi dealer spares dept) and the only tricky part was getting the cabling through the hatch rubber pipe. Obd11 can sort out the coding. Cost me £300. Front sensors look a lot more complex and I did not try that. Good luck with finding a decent installer.
  9. That may mean that the body has twisted so the problem may be greater than just the door closure. I suggest you get the car onto an alignment jig to check it first. It would be a shame to get the door closing properly only to find the car crabs or wanders along the road, or that the tyres are scrubbed to shreds.

Hi Spartacus 68 thank you for your reply much appreciated What I’m wanting is when unlocking the car I want the lights to come on all the time it only does it when it’s pitch black is there away to bypass this and they come in anytime of day no matter what I’m using obd 11 with pro subscription is this something this can be done or will I need a coder with access to vcds software Thanks Josh
  11. I had an Island Green 1.4tdi, barely run in at 210,000 miles, 60mpg, sailed through MoT! All standard so don't fix which isn't broken. A fuel pump leak & lack of spares meant it had to go to WOMAUTOMOTIVE in Stoke-on-Trent who had a selection of donor cars. Our "Dinky Toy" is now back on the road with a new owner. My good lady wishes we still had the A2.
  12. Electric fuel pump - not filter 🫣
  13. Wondering if anyone could help, my all road A6 C5 , when I drive it and rex past 2000rpm the abs light comes on with the esp and suspension level control light, if I turn car off and restart the light go out, if I keep under 2000 rpm no lifts come on, I have logged with vcds, and only fault is brake pressure implausible, when I do live reading it fluctuates between 0 to 33, when I put foot on brake the pressure goes up as it should, I have changed the abs unit and brake light switch. Is there another module or something I missed
  14. Amazing set of pictures there 😎👍

  16. No further with Audi they offered no solution. I am just muddling through making sure that the car says charge immediately and take it from there, before I go to bed check to turn off any timers !!!
  17. Try a variation of that technique: press and hold the up/down switch until the glass has stopped moving but continue to hold the switch for another ten seconds.
  18. Hi, I have recently brought an Audi q7 2013, turns out the rear diff needs replacing already, can anyone tell me how the rear drive shafts connect to the diff please ? Mine is not the type with the bolts, that's all I can seem to find when looking online for Info on it ,is it a circlip or something like that? Thanks
  19. I really am beginning to think this is a wind up or do you not know anything or have learned nothing from your previous ownership of any car, buy an electric bike its safer.
  20. Hey Bob That's a good point about the software being slow to boot up. Not thought of that as the occasional yellow flash ups that I have experienced barely last milliseconds before they disappear. Thankyou for that.
  21. Thanks Paul, Now even more confused with who initiated the alert! Would suggest you take this up with another dealer. Regards, Gareth.
  22. Welcome Jay, Judging by your written comments, I too would concur with your views on your chosen mechanic. Just to add, I don’t open links from unknown sources, so my comments are based solely on your written word. Could you do us a kindness Jay and amend your profile and be more specific re. your location within England. Regards, Gareth.
  23. Done, but something is missing here, the mechanic don’t know what is missing here try to reach Audi but also they didn’t know. StreamableWatch unnamed | Streamable
  24. Thanks for you advice. I will be giving it a try.
  25. Hi, Thank you for your response. I saw this thread whilst researching before I posted my own. I’m not convinced I have an alternator problem. In my case it is the engine which suddenly died whilst under way. There were no abnormal indications at all on the dash and there’s no evidence of any event in the diagnostics record. In my opinion that indicates that the engine behaved correctly in response to its inputs (so nothing to report) but possibly one of those inputs was erroneous. The dealer is unable, or unwilling, to troubleshoot the matter.
  26. Hi Steve, How are you? I’m looking to get up to Nottingham sometime time next week (don’t know exactly when yet, that’s down to when I can get into Notts kayak club, could be the weekend ), to buy a racing kayak, so could bring the wheels up then if you’re still interested in them?
