  2. I have an A4 3.0TDI Quattro (VIN: WAUZZZ8E25A456940) acquired new in February 2005. It’s a superb car, still in fantastic condition (at 184000 miles) and in perfect working order other than the following problem. A coolant hose at the rear of the engine, part no. 8E2819371AD, has split and the car cannot now be driven. It’s at a local garage where a pressure test was conducted to seek a minor leak. I presume that the pressure caused the hose to rupture. The part was declared obsolete only last month (!) by TPS (official VAG parts supplier). My garage can’t spend any more time searching and has passed the problem to me. On Thursday I ordered the part from LLL Parts, whose website initially showed it in stock but yesterday I got an email, saying only that it isn’t available; no indication if they can get one; no response to my email and I can’t reach them by phone as their automated answering system keeps cutting me off. I am now having enormous difficulty finding the part on the Internet, other than from a few expensive, probably dodgy Eastern European sellers on eBay, which I am not willing to risk. If the part can't be found, it seems that I would have to have the car scrapped, which is crazy, given how good it is, and would be emotionally difficult for me. Can anyone please help?
  3. Ok thank you, sorry if I’m being silly - but what’s the best way to source part numbers?

  5. It can be done. Heres how to do it: https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/archive/index.php/t-193233.html

    HELP?!

Any comment Brad on the two replies you have received? I know you have seen them.
  7. Have you tried eBay? Quite a few on there: https://ebay.us/m/Mrz7yY https://ebay.us/m/1LLkwS https://ebay.us/m/nKzHhi https://ebay.us/m/7URvWa
  8. If you've authorised a third party app to access your car (via the Audi APIs) in order to set timers then that's likely to be the cause of the problem. This link should help. https://www.e-tronforum.com/threads/charge-timer-randomly-enables-itself.6994/
  9. This could be a starter motor issue or crank sensor issue. Or according to this thread the sensors that have decide on fuel delivery can be mapped out: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/197826/%3famp=1

    Underpowered?

I mean for peace of mind you could get a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. Or alternatively get it remapped.

  12. If this is the engine you have the red box is the electronic EGR control valve, the green box is the vacuum operated EGR cooling flap solenoid.
  13. If you get some I'd be interested to find out how they look if you could let us know here please. I've got a couple of worn ones myself, usual suspects, heater fan up and down, seem to be the most used buttons in the world. I just set the temperature on mine, put it on auto and leave it alone. Works well enough for me.
  14. Is there a reason for the question Amanda, or just curiosity?
  15. So what did they do to the brakes, and has it cured the noise?
  16. Good plan. Please keep us posted on how you get on

  18. I am really not getting a clear idea of the situation here. Some sort of software was updated, but it is not known which and why. The battery was tested, but no results have been presented to support the "all good" conclusion. The mechanic's "cpu is good but not perfect" so its conclusions can not be relied on. In the absense of firm information about the diagnoses I really cannot add anything further to this topic, however I wish you luck in solving the problem.
  19. I’ve given you one to start Tristian.
  20. Me too lol. Getting the remap removed on Monday morning so I’m hoping if they dig a little deeper that they won’t be able to tell
  21. Thanks for the heads up. Definitely worth noting got other members.

  26. That's great to hear 🙂 not a bad courtesy car at all!
  27. Got pea e if mind you could get a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. Alternatively give it another week to see how you get on.
  28. Audi dealers are notoriously expensive when it comes to repairs. Have you tried a local garage/repair shop? I assume such places still exist in the USA.
  29. Ya B rated for noise
