Hi, Have recently noticed a rotational noise when driving - wheel have been balanced and tyres were checked during balancing and all good. Has anyone any idea what this might be, have attached a video, noise can be heard slightly in the background..... Definitely seems to be in line with wheel rotation / speed and volume varies from hardly noticeable to quite loud. Any advice / input gratefully received! 20250509_173656_1.mp4

So I finally tracked them down and as I thought, they're aftermarket "MAM 6" wheels, which are (not surprisingly) unavailable new any more. http://wayneswheels.net/MAM_WHEELS.html I really like the way they look on the car, 17's are plenty big enough for this style and they are almost identical to the TT/RS wheels of the time.

Thanks. That's really helpful. Changing the front discs this weekend so while I'm at it, will jack it up at the rear and see what markings I can find on the existing springs and hopefully match them against the LLL parts website.

A6 c7 pulsating brakes & wheel vibration cure
Steve Q replied to Steve Q's topic in Audi A6 (C7) Forum
Definitely try this. If the discs are warped then it brings into question how the car is being driven or the quality of the discs. -
Fantastic news 😁

Usually scan with VCDS to see if any error codes. He's a similar issue and how it was resolved.

2009 Audi A4 Suspension Issue – Bought from Dealer
Mark Valley replied to Mark Valley's topic in Audi A4 (B9) Forum
Hello all, Thank you for your help, and apologies for the late response. I got the car back yesterday—they’ve replaced the arms. I’ll be taking it to my friend’s garage to record a video of the post-repair condition and will share it here. There’s still a minor issue with the dashboard brake pad warning light. It remains on, even though the brake pads, discs, and sensor have all been replaced. The mechanic wasn’t able to resolve it and mentioned it’s likely related to the wiring, requiring an electrician. The dealer has agreed to arrange one. If anyone has experience with this issue or knows what might be causing the light to stay on, I’d appreciate any insights. After that’s sorted, I’ll also be getting the belt replaced as a precaution—it’ll cost around £200. The last belt change was 9 years ago when car mileage was 51k Kind regards, -
Hi all Is there a workshop manual that's available which covers the 2.6 V6 Coupe? I've seen that Haynes did one that covered the earlier models to 1990 but this doesn't include the 2.6. Even an exploded parts diagram would be of assistance if this is available anywhere. Thanks in advance

Thanks Tony, Probably best to advertise this under a separate post - listing the registration number in the title. Regards, Gareth. -
Hello John, A forum search for various Parts Wanted, should point you to on-line car breaker link sites such as Partsfinder - there are more. Also search EBay etc. What mileage has yours covered, and when was the Haldex unit last serviced. Tyre thread depth been uniform on all wheels during your ownership? Regards, Gareth.

A6 Mechatronic repair recommendations in highlands
spartacus 68 replied to jmull90's topic in Audi A6 (C7) Forum
Think your best bet is to phone a few VAG transmission specialists in the central belt, agree on repair and estimate cost. Drive through and leave the car and get a train or bus back. Now unless you’re on the islands, then you could spend a few days in Glasgow and then return with car once fixed. It’s difficult to assume anything with transmissions, so only once it’s checked, can they repair or replace parts. Inverness Audi would take a kidney as part payment as you know. - Last week

Well she's still sitting level so no leaks yet......damn,I just had to say that......we shall see. For the moment all seems OK. I have no doubt I'll be back with other sob stories 🤣

I believe in my case the alarm/immo is built in the pump itself. I have not found any box for the immobilizer in the car.

On your phone bluetooth menu, select the mmi connection and check the settings allowed. you should have a couple of options in there like the pic attached. Make sure the Media audio option is allowed. (thats the first thing i would do anyway)

Have you checked the engine or gearbox mounts? Could it be a clutch/dmf issue?

Caliper on front brakes rattle on 2008 A6 (C6) Avant S-line
Alfie6 replied to Alfie6's topic in Audi A6 (C6) Forum
Thank you for your reply. I have the invoice for brake pads ( dated 18//07/23) and they are Borg and Beck BBP1766 from Motor Parts Direct - I have checked their web site and they are correct. I note new discs were also fitted at the same time supplied by them BBD4509, which are correct. With regard to carrier wear the car has done 12500miles, and don't believe the car has been driven hard, since I know the previous owner, who has owned the car from new. Thank you for the very helpful diagrams and note the only spring on the caliper shown is on the outer which I have replaced. I find this unusual as other calipers I have worked on have springs in the base of the carrier and hold the pads tight in the holder. I have ordered some ceramic brake grease and will carry your recommendations and will let you know. Thank you again. -
Picking up my S5 Avant today. Lets hope a few months of customer "beta" testing has ironed out the glitches. I have been advised that there are a few features that are pending updates. Thankfully SW updates are over the air - or are they?? I have worked in an electronics and software environment and all new products will have glitches, bugs, undocumented features and ultimately recalls where over the air fixes are not possible. The price to pay for initial exclusivity? Agree with the comment about the S5 being more like an A6 regarding dims and possibly appearance. From my perspective this is a plus as I am trading in my trusty A6 C7 for it. The load space is less but the towing capacity is up, BONUS! The car is on 20" rims, not sure 19's are an option - I did not configure my car but did not see other wheel options on the Audi configurator site. The car has more toys than Santa's workshop - its going to be some time before I find and test them all but looking forward to it.

I wish to refurbish or purchase new centre wheel caps. Cannot find reasonably priced ones. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I had the MAF sensor changed and a fault lit up again, did a little research and found that there is a pressure sensor for the DPF. Located tot he rear right of the engine - top. I recall mine was about £28 from Euro Car Parts and a 10 minute fit.

Oh I see now. Nope it seems to operate as normal, starts easily every time.
