  3. Great, many thanks Gill. Kind regards, Gareth.
  4. Hello Bob, I’m sorry I can’t help you with this, but I would think seriously about DIYing this - it is likely to end up the sort of job you wish you hadn’t started, and has a great potential for resulting in broken bits of plastic. If it were mine, I would be seeking assistance at a trusted local independent. Kind regards, Gareth.
  5. Hey thanks for all the info. Still looking but a lot clearer on what's what now
  6. You might find an a3 one will fit
  7. Keep us posted on how you get on
  8. I'm highly confident it's cambelt.
  9. I'd consider either the headlight switch or the indicator stalks/relay.

  11. Mine’s back too. Spooky!
  12. OK, AutoCarPart1 (4592) in Brum has a pair £146.82 incl delivery.....does this sound reasonable? There are MUCH cheaper on Ebay but I thought a mid range price would be fairly safe.....should I be asking myself "what are you like" or am I probably OK with these? Thoughts welcome.
  13. Davie, just to let you know I had the crank sensor replaced and it worked! Have been driving it for over a week and no more issues. Thanks so much - my garage saw nothing in the diagnostics and were suggesting they start ripping out all the wiring estimating up to £2k with no guarantee of finding the cause. Hope this thread helps someone else.
  14. Hi its under the thin one. It looks like a bracket mounted to the side of the engine. It has 2 bolts holding it on and looks like it may have a gasket. Thanks.
  15. Can anyone help please? I have had a full service done on my audi a6 2015 and the break pads sensor came up after 2 days the sensor turned off and the engine light came on. Went to a garage they scanned the car and it came up with maf sensor, so i got that replaced and they removed the engine light but after 10-15miles of driving it came back on, went again to the garage and same thing came up maf sensor.
  16. Hi everyone, I recently bought a 2023 A4 Avant 2.0 TFSI (left-side drive). Since I live in an area where car thefts are not that unusual, I want to make sure the car is not startable. Logistically I am fine with pulling the relays and/or fuses every time since the car will not be driven every day and is in a garage. Could you guys provide some opinions on the following ideas: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fuel-Pump control unit fuse -> Fuse 16 in ST1 in Relay and fuse carrier 1 -SR1- with fuse holder B -SB (Drivers foot support) This fuse is relatively easy to access (one screw) and should disable the fuel pump. Car will crank but no start. Starter Relay(s) -> R2 and R3 in Relay and fuse carrier 3 -SR3 Not sure how easy this is to access but from the picture in "fitting locations" it does not look too complicated. I also don't get it why are there two starter relays. Is one for the motor and one for the solenoid? If those relays are out car will not crank but the fuel pump will flood the cylinders. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Correct me if I'm wrong, but there shouldn't be any negative effects for the car by letting it sit for a couple of days without any of those fuses/relays. And did I find the correct fuses and locations for wanted effects? audi-a4-2015-fitting-locations-eng (1).pdf audi-a4-2015-wiring-diagrams-eng (1).pdf
  17. Thanks Brian, i will. 👍
  18. Hi all, the clutch on my 1.4 A4 seems really high. It doesn’t seem to be slipping, but if I do a spirited launch from standstill then there’s a squealing metallic sound from the engine bay just while the clutch is slipping until fully engaged. Doesn’t do it at low power takeoffs. Considering the mental cost of doing the clutch on these cars I’m considering whether I should gamble that it could go on like this for a long time or move it on before it fails. Could any fellow owners let me know if a high clutch biting point is normal on the 1.4?

  20. Spring should be ok as new top mount replaced, someone suggested it could be swaybar bushes…it’s so annoying and now my mechanic suggested going to an Audi specialist fgs…..
  21. Load it to YouTube and link it from there.
  22. So are you going to try Parts in Motion?
  23. Anyone know where the fuel filter is on the 1.5 TFSI 2018 A3? I'm assuming it has one?
  24. I had the same problem. The key seemed solidly locked when trying to turn it. Strange solution was to press hard on the metal cover of the roof. Press on the outside RIGHT (driver's side UK) while turning the key. That has worked a few times for me.
  25. Hi Guys I bought my 2006 3L A4 cabriolet a year ago and starting to have regrets because parts are hard to find. Had to go to Sweden for new front spring. Now wings are rotted with only two new wings left in Europe at over £500 each. Solution is to buy A4 wings and cut out the wheel arch then, treating it as a repair panel, weld it onto the original top wing. Roof will not go down. (works manually with the key) Alarm needs deactivated every time the door is locked. Good news is that the floor under the passenger carpet is bone dry. Bad news is that the windows stick down OR up as they wish. REALLY bad news is that the only CCM available is over £300. 8HO 959 433 M Great news is that it is perfection to drive. Fast and very sure footed. It even knows where I want to go before I do! Indeed just as sure footed as my 60 year old 2CV ('though my 40 year old TVR wins hands down. Off now to dig up a Comfort Control Module. Brian
  26. Yes, sounds like cabling/loose connection - good luck!
