Creaking from Wheels - Technician said it's normal??
cliffcoggin replied to DeanLFC93's topic in Audi A3 (8Y) Forum
Dean. You are not going crazy, and the technician is talking rubbish by saying it is normal. That's not to say the creak indicates anything unsafe, but the noise would irritate the hell out of me. I suspect the rubber bushes in the front steering and suspension links, despite the claim that some have been renewed. -
I used to keep getting the same problem on my '04 A3. It used to happen every time I gave my mate a lift (putting it politely he's generously built). Turns out when he put the seat all the way back it was undoing the connector under the seat. Could be worth a look if you put the seat back to work on the blower.

So an update on readings. Been back out to do a better job of recording voltages. Multimeter on car ground to the following pins: with ignition on but not running Pin 1- 4.98v Pin 2- 0v Pin 3- 12.19v Multimeter on car ground to the following pins: car running Pin 1- 4.99v Pin 2- 0v Pin 3- 14.37v - 14.45v when rev'd Variance between pins 1 and 3 - 9.3v And pins 2 and 3 - 14.4v All seems normal yet something blows the maf sensor. Could the Multimeter response time be insufficient to pick up voltage transients? What am I missing here? If anyone could provide their voltage readings as a comparison it would be appreciated. If anyone has any ideas of what to look at next, that'd also be appreciated. Would different measurement equipment be more suitable? Oscilloscope?

Does anybody know the paint code for the Matt Metallic Grey Lower Skirt on the 2016 8V. I can't find a reference to this on any of the documentation. I assume this is a standard colour across all body colours? My body colour is Monsoon Grey.

Front washers and pump not working (and it's not the pump)
cliffcoggin replied to MAC34's topic in Audi Servicing and Repairs
Agreed, and no apology needed Gareth. -
Hello! I have a manual 6 speed Audi A4 B8 2.0 TDI Quattro from 2012, its the facelifted version. I have enabled with VCDS the drive-select function on the MMI (MMI 3G) , but only Comfort and Individual modes are selectable. I have watched a video about this, it seems like the guy in the video enables an adaptation in 09 with a security key, which is 20113 , my VCDS software also tells me that the security key to unlock adaptation features in that module is 20113 , but if I type it in and press the "Do it!" button it gives me an error code , "Security key not authorised! , Error: Unknown (00) (0x00)" or something like this , and I can't enable multiple modes. (I know that it won't do anything I just want the interface of the driveselect in my car to look like and feel like an audi that has it.) Thank you in advance for the help! Kind regards, David.

Please do, as this question crops up from time to time.

There's no doubt it is leaking oil from somewhere. That will be expensive repair, so unless you need to top up frequently I suggest you ignore it for now.

Yellow equals dim where tungsten lamps are concerned, so I am confident new bolbs would be whiter. Can I assume the lens is not cloudy and any reflector untarnished.

Same here. I've never had a car with so many chips. Tried repairing one. Didn't really work. They're not big enough to claim on insurance. Have to just ignore them

Jaguar XF where the app was very good, as is Ford's, the Audi app is awful. It won't actively send you any notifications if you leave it unlocked. I'm glad that I only took the month option. It tells me where the car is for free. As for the other £16 monthly subscription. Same. Don't. Fire up WAZE for satnav. It's brilliant and FREE traffic alerts.

Good morning I have a 2016 a5 cabriolet, when purchased steering wheel buttons and paddles were not working but the horn was I have replaced the control ring under the airbag after diagnostic said this was the fault, however since fitting my mechanic can't get the cruise control stalk to work which was working before the control ring was swapped, I ordered a new part from autodoc using the vehicle reg so I'm sure the ring is the correct oem part, any ideas or advice would be really appreciated

Jerk when moving off at almost full lock
spartacus 68 replied to AleksaA3quattro's topic in Audi A3 (8P) Forum
Cars with Quattro drive will crab on full lock which might explain lurch. The A3 uses Haldex system so it’s basically on FWD unless speed sensors say otherwise. I doubt there much to worry about. If worried, get the car scanned with VCDS. -
No, the tyre pressures are always okay when checked. It’s not saying that a specific tyre is low on pressure as it would if there was a puncture etc but that there is a fault with the system. I have found out that it is not sensors in the valves that monitor the tyres but a combination of the rolling circumference when set which is monitored by the speed sensors/ ABS system

We have sheep breaking the 20mph limit. Would an App cater for that!?

Evening everyone, newbie here. Just purchased a 2015 Audi S7 V8 450bhp petrol with 96000 miles, lovely car but has just thrown up the error on my ODB2 o2 sensor signal stuck lean; bank 1 sensor 2. Is this an easy fix to do at home, or a garage job? If it can be done at home where can i find it? Thank you.

Thank you I will do

Hello Does anyone know the part numbers for the red front brake calipers on the S6? From doing some searching I found the numbers 4N0615107AG and 4N0615108AG, but on some sites they are referred to as being for other cars like the SQ7 and S7. Are they the same part? Thanks

Take it back to the dealer with your mechanic's report. The dealer will undoubtedly try to dismiss your problems with all sorts of excuses, but stand your ground and insist on either a refund or a full repair. It's your legal right.
