Hi, thanks for the reply. I was thinking sensor too BUT what sensor, located where? I've not been able to find out what sensor is sending the insufficient flow fault message. The EGR valve was a like for like replacement PIERBURG 7.02132.07.0 from Autodoc. I also replaced the solenoid with new off Ebay. I'm told by the geeks at Ross-Tech (VCDS people) that the check engine light can go off by itself after a few driving cycles. However, the latest twist in the saga is that the light came on 14th June, then went off by itself later that week, then came back on yesterday (23rd June) but when I scanned the car, the report said the fault that brought the light on was the one on 14th June, nothing for 23rd June. It would be great if someone could tell me which sensor is reporting the insufficient flow.
-
You need a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up to find the route cause.
-
That's odd it's not fixed the issue. After all that work my guess would be a sensor. You might need a more advanced diagnosis from Audi or similar. Was the egr replaced with an aftermarket one or genuine Audi? Is there a chance this or the solenoid could be faulty?

Mmi 3G low update and maps frustration
Steve Q replied to Arkannoyed's topic in New Members Introductions
If you've bought this from a dealer in the last 30 days then it's for them to fix free of charge if it's not been sold as described. As you're entitled to a full refund in the first 30 days after sale. -
Is it linked to an engine breather I wonder? Do you have any pics?
-
Yep they should fit. Best way of checking if you're in a position to is trial fit one before you buy them.
-
So glad you got sorted 🙂

A3 8P 2011 2.0TDI - Problem with aircon/heating unit
Steve Q replied to Morto's topic in Audi A3 (8P) Forum
I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up -
You'll need to go into Audi or type your reg on a parts store online to find the correct part number. As it'll depend if it's Bose, or standard Audi one etc. If you've just bought it from a dealer in the last 30 days then it's their responsibility to fix it free of charge as you're entitled to a full refund in the first 30 days after sale

That looks to be useful company to know about for anybody in North London, Leicester, or Lamia (Greece).

I have just downloaded via the SD drive in my car a software 'patch' created by https://www.vagcarcoding.com This solved the software fault. DAB now fully operational.

Divo801 started following MyAudi app notifications
-
Hi I’m a noobi to the forum so forgive me if this query has been asked before. Does the app give notifications when charging is complete? (Other than opening the app) As you know some charge points penalise you if you stay over once the charge has completed £1 / minute! So would be good if this was a feature, I’ve been told it is but has never worked for me the only notifications I get is when charging fails so the config and comms are in place for me to get notified. Thanks 🙏

I have purchased 2008 Audi a6 c6 avant with no sound at all. MMI works, navi works, radio list frequencies however I cannot here anything. I have opened the left compartment at the back and the amplifier is missing, the optical loop is bypassed with a connector. Where can I find a correct amp part number for my car?

Morto started following A3 8P 2011 2.0TDI - Problem with aircon/heating unit
-
Hi all. Problem as follows... Aircon/heating header is off - so no aircon, heating or rear demister. Headlights have defaulted to 'always on' (when key is turned). Have replaced aircon header unit - no change. Have been through every fuse - everything seems ok. Battery is fairly new and tests fine with multimeter. Main instrument cluster seems fine - speedo, fuel gauge, backlights etc - all seem fine. Does the aircon header unit connect through the instrument cluster or is it a separate unit completely? Is there a separate fuse or something somewhere that controls the aircon header etc? Has anyone seen this before or have any ideas, before I pay someone to take a proper look? Many thanks!

HI!!! thought i'd report on the outcome in case it can help others.......I checked the speed sensors with a obd and after i sussed how to do it they all came out OK,so that was off the list,i bought a new after market steering angle sensor and fitted it ....while doing so i noticed that the Module thing had dropped a little and had obviously disconnected a few things slightly, this occured as when i first got the car after a few weeks the key could not be removed and i had to drill the steering lock out, when i put the lot together i for some reason didnt put the little screw back that holds the module in place (mustve lost it???) i held it in place with really good tape (this was at least 2 years ago),i'm assuming that with the weather lately the tape got sticky and melted a bit and with the amount of road humps round my way the Module dropped down????....it is possible that the angle sensor was ok but just disconnected?? ....all the faults are gone now and the car seems to be working ok with no warning lights on the dash.....i guess i will never know as i aint gonna check as it was a bit of a pain in the ar5e to do. it all makes sense now with te wipers/indicaters not working which was a bit wierd .....anyway cheers to those who gave advice......by the way.....my obd skills need to get better as i removed the tool and left the key in the ignition ON overnight and fried the battery☹️....it was really swollen once i sussed ...£50 down the drain....lucky i didnt fry the electrics and lucky the battery didnt explode....i noticed the previous owner didnt remove the 2 plugs from the battery that you are supposed to do when you recieve it??? maybe ive been driving a ticking timebomb??? i didnt even know batteries had these plugs??? ....cheers again all

Rybrook started following Headlight range control system fault

Range control is the level sensors on the front and rear lower control arms, easily damaged when working on suspension, I snapped mine so 3d printed a new arm from an A6 all-road air suspension sensor. They can also go bad when the abs sensors break.

skiduk started following Audi Service plan or Independent Garage
-
I have had my A6 now just over 2 weeks, and really impressed with it so far and happy with the purchase. Got a free month with AudiConnect navigation etc, its a shame its £14.99 a month, I think its a bit steep. If it was more like £7.99 I would be more likely to subscribe, as I like using the cars integrated features. My main dilemma and the reason for the post, is what to do with servicing. Audi plan is £36.99 per month for 2 years (you can have one for £35.99 which is 2 services & pollen filter changes, no warranty) 1 x oil service 1 x oil & pollen filter change 2 x mots 2 years road side and warranty How does the above work if its a major service, does the price of the major get reduced with one service knocked off? or just go with an Audi/VW specialist garage I found who seem reasonable. I have 33,500 miles so going to need a Major service at £342 and gear box oil at £258, do these prices below seem fair?
