  2. If the headlinings are normally glued in place as Richard says, I wonder if it is possible to inject glue through the lining at selected spots using a syringe with a wide bore needle. It would need a non staining low viscosity glue and one would have to find the right points at which to inject, but if it works it would save the effort of removing the lining. I have no idea if it would work as I have only just dreamed up the idea. Any opinions Richard?
  3. Pretty sure its a cardboard composite. No need to use a drill. The buttons I've seen use self-tappers and the cloth button clips over.
  4. Hi Gareth, the video's I have seen show a self tapping screw being fitted first, this has a base plate which stops the material from twisting around the screw. The material button then fits to the plate.
  5. I don’t know Greg, but I would be surprised if it’s fibreglass and not a composite. Are you going to DIY this button arrangement? If so, I see a potential for the headlining to wrap around the drill, so worth giving some thought to avoiding that. Also recommend a stop on the drill to prevent drilling into the roof! If you are not carefully DIYing it then I would be even more wary of the consequences of the above via. a 3rd party. Regards, Gareth.

  7. Hi, I never bothered when I found it how much of the dash had to come out. I just use the max windscreen button for the few times a year the flap motor gets it wrong, always seems to be on the warmest days.
  8. When you remove the glove box, the is a cable connected near the footwell light, has 5 wires I think, this connects the footwell, glovebox and this
  9. What switch is this, and where about is it please??
  10. Fantastic news 😊

  13. No probs at all 🙂
  14. My 3.2 dsg is a little jerky at about 2krpm, like it's going to stall by over fuelling, the mk5 r32s also have this.
  15. You need to get a loom converter, no cutting of wires at all. I have a non Bose concert and fitted a pioneer MVH-S240DAB. Only thing added was a powered dab antenna, the kit came with a patch lead to enable the use of the rear speakers and subwoofer.
  16. Yes it's the multi plug on the glove box, I had this just the other day, I was messing about with my head unit, while I had the glove box removed the light on the dash and in the binnacle were illuminated, the glove box had the passenger activation key switch inside. Switch off when connecting it back up
  17. Least yours is easy, my dsg has 2 drain plugs, strange I know.
  18. When the child lock is disengaged, the door only opens from the outside
  19. No they didn't. I would have taken that if I could. Tony
  20. Great Tony -very pleased for you. Back to your SP30, didn’t they offer you the option of attending a speed awareness course for around £90, rather than 3 points? Regards, Gareth.

  22. Hi guys please forgive me if this has been asked many time I have tried looking if it has but still learning how to navigate the site. I am looking for a honey comb grille for my a4 b8 avant s line will this all I look at say not suitable for s line. Anyone purchased and fitted one? If so please guide me to where you obtained it many thanks in advance and apologies if asked before regards Tim
  23. Strange request but I'm looking for the plastic casings from a pair of b3 80 headlights. Cheers
  24. Yeah it’s all just nuts and bolts at the end of the day!! The actuator only seems to have a threaded nut to set it so I think if I could find the tolerance or measurement online it’s not too tricky. There were no issues with the oil feed and no leaks. Gaskets were all fine except for the one between the manifold and the EGR so I replaced that one. I’m using an Ancel VD700 to read codes etc but it’s not throwing out any codes. As a side note I’ve driven 300 miles today and it’s not happened so it’s one of those intermittent things. I’ll find it at some point I guess!!
  25. First of all I must thank you all for the imput into my Insurance woes. I have now received my new renewal quote from Admiral. It has come in a few pence short of £2k. Which I am more than happy about. So I go on another year driving my fabulous E-Tron GT. Tony
  26. Thank you I will take a little time to learn how to navigate the forum but hope to involve myself more in future
  27. The first picture shows the drain plug, I left the hex to show where it's located in ref to the filler plug in the 2nd picture
  28. Finally got around to draining the gear box oil today. I was expecting it to be low as could see that the last owner had a new driveshaft fitted, but wasn't expecting there to only be 1 litre in there. Car was level and I filled it up using a large syringe 1.5 litres. There must have been some of the old oil left in the gearbox as I read that these take 1.8 litres. Will check it in a few days to make sure its still topped up.
