  2. Hi there is only one VCDS, I would recommend the single VIN version if you intend to keep the car, the OBDEleven is a lot cheaper but of late I have found this system will do what you want but only if you have the Pro subscription which is over £100 a year therefore the VCDS represents better value as once purchased its yours with free updates. Steve.

  6. Hi thats better I think a good spray with WD40 and then try twisting it, try left and right gently I have a feeling the end that goes in the filter cover has some sort of locking tabs. Steve.
  7. Zac. It is not advisable to buy secondhand gearboxes for a car of that age, unless direct from a transmission reconditioning company. They will all be worn or damaged no matter what the seller tells you. Before buying any more gearboxes I suggest you get the car onto a diagnostic code reader to find out what is wrong. It may be that repair of the existing box will be cheaper than a reconditioned one or the purchase of another car.
  8. That's remarkably cheap for a garage fitted wiper motor. I suggest you give them the job and save yourself the hassle of broken boot liner clips.
  9. Hi everyone I have this wing which is in immaculate condition I have not got a paint code for it I’d like £40 because I don’t want to scrap it I live in Welshpool SY21 Powys wales not keen on posting had a very bad experience with it Really hope someone wants it

  11. Thanks for the reply, I just spoke to audi parts team and asked them if its 1 piece but they said no its separate, can't find anything online for this car
  12. Hi, I have a 2009 Audi A6 Avant TDI with a gearbox code LDQ. I'm experiencing a problem: in second gear, the gearbox jerks and judders violently when I accelerate. Once I reach around 40 or 50 mph, it smooths out, but at lower speeds, the jerking is really noticeable, even audible from the sidewalk. I recently tried to replace the gearbox, but the seller failed to mention it was already broken. I reinstalled the original gearbox, so the car moves, but now I’m stuck. I can't track down the correct gearbox ratios or exact code. The Audi dealership won't provide details unless I buy from them at an extremely high price. All I know is that the sticker in my boot lists the code as LDQ, but when I try to buy one, they insist I need the exact ratios to match. I have no idea how to confirm this before buying a used or reconditioned gearbox. I’ve uploaded pictures that show the car is in quite good condition; the previous owner looked after it well, and I’ve done some maintenance myself to keep it in a good standard. Unfortunately, this gearbox issue is putting me in a limbo—whether I should scrap the car, which I really don’t want to do, unless I can find an economical solution to fix this problem. Hopefully, someone here could help me or guide me in the right direction. I would hate to get rid of this car, as the condition is quite good. The mileage is only 111,000, which I’m told is not much for a car like this, and I bought it to transport. a disabled person and there wheel chair about, many thanks for your time and advice
  13. Unfortunately the garage has reassembled the boot liner etc so I can’t see the part number. Garage has suggested they can probably get one that will fit but it will be £120+ rather than the £35 I paid. Thanks for your reply anyway.

  22. Hi, I'm new to vehicle diagnostics, but I am facing an expensive aircon flap motor change, and understand that it's possible to change the flap motor. However this requires programming with the VCDS OBD kit. I have never done this, so I'll be careful, but I wonder whether anyone can advise on which kit to buy, please? I have a decent laptop, but that's all. Any recommendations please for what is a good purchase, with proper software? Cheers, Chris

  24. Hi can you post a picture of the new sensor both ends
  25. Hi I think you are suffering from the latest Audi bright idea, make the sensor and the filter cover one piece. Steve
  26. Hi if it stands for a long time the only thing that deteriorates is the pad sensor wires easy enough to replace and cheap enough aftermarket. Steve.
  27. Hi not come across this before, is it a grey import ? and can you get the part number off of the old unit as that may shed some light. Steve
  28. I have a 2018 Q5 that has done about 14k from new. it stands outside. I have had three brake pad warnings this year. They don't look worn down but I wonder if they deteriorate with age. I was at my usual garage a months ago and they said that they looked OK.
  29. Myself and a friend put it on a lift to try and see if we could get at it but we couldn't. That's when I decided this was a job for a mechanic who had done a couple and he definitely went in from the top. Not sure how much he removed to get at it.
  30. Is it accessible from underneath, do you need to remove any parts or covers to get to it? Cheers

  32. Hi all Audi owners. I need to replace my rear wiper motor due to it leaking into the boot when I wash the rear window. A simple job to change but very difficult to source the correct part. I have a 3 pin D shape connector on my motor but every motor I have found is a 4 pin rectangle connector. Has anyone come across this issue and what was the answer. Thanks.
