  3. No they didn't. I would have taken that if I could. Tony
  4. Great Tony -very pleased for you. Back to your SP30, didn’t they offer you the option of attending a speed awareness course for around £90, rather than 3 points? Regards, Gareth.
  5. EBay, breaking Audi 80’s
  6. Today
  7. Hi guys please forgive me if this has been asked many time I have tried looking if it has but still learning how to navigate the site. I am looking for a honey comb grille for my a4 b8 avant s line will this all I look at say not suitable for s line. Anyone purchased and fitted one? If so please guide me to where you obtained it many thanks in advance and apologies if asked before regards Tim
  8. Strange request but I'm looking for the plastic casings from a pair of b3 80 headlights. Cheers
  9. Yeah it’s all just nuts and bolts at the end of the day!! The actuator only seems to have a threaded nut to set it so I think if I could find the tolerance or measurement online it’s not too tricky. There were no issues with the oil feed and no leaks. Gaskets were all fine except for the one between the manifold and the EGR so I replaced that one. I’m using an Ancel VD700 to read codes etc but it’s not throwing out any codes. As a side note I’ve driven 300 miles today and it’s not happened so it’s one of those intermittent things. I’ll find it at some point I guess!!
  10. First of all I must thank you all for the imput into my Insurance woes. I have now received my new renewal quote from Admiral. It has come in a few pence short of £2k. Which I am more than happy about. So I go on another year driving my fabulous E-Tron GT. Tony
  11. Thank you I will take a little time to learn how to navigate the forum but hope to involve myself more in future
  12. The first picture shows the drain plug, I left the hex to show where it's located in ref to the filler plug in the 2nd picture
  13. Finally got around to draining the gear box oil today. I was expecting it to be low as could see that the last owner had a new driveshaft fitted, but wasn't expecting there to only be 1 litre in there. Car was level and I filled it up using a large syringe 1.5 litres. There must have been some of the old oil left in the gearbox as I read that these take 1.8 litres. Will check it in a few days to make sure its still topped up.
  14. Thank for the video, however, I am disabled and can't remove this myself. I had it costed at well over £500. So the buttons on a 22 year old car at less than £10 v £500 is a no brainer for me. I have seen pictures of vehicles other than Audi's with this fix, but can't seen to find out if it's possible to fit the screws into the roof shell e.g. if it's a cardboard composite or is it fiberglass.
  15. Many thanks, I’ll give it a go 👍
  16. Hi I had the same problem no bass it improved with these settings. Treble Bass Subwoofer all 3 notches up from mid position. Focus All Surround level mid position 3D sound low good luck
  17. Glad you're nearly sorted. Sorry the last bit isn't working.
  18. Check the fuses!
  19. Waxoil won't stop the corrosion. The alloy insert is there to strengthen the rubber suspension seat. It corrodes from the inside. Leave it and you risk the spring breaking. Easier to replace on a 2WD car. On quattro, you can remove lower shock mount. You need a piston jack to extend lower trailing arm down. Worst case scenario, loosen subframe bolt a few turns too. No need to undo the eccentric bolt either.
  20. That's fair enough. This is a forum, so you're going to get different opinions and using roof lining buttons in my opinion is a bodge, but each to their own. Here's the process on a B6 saloon. Good news is rear window doesn't need to come out. Removing front seats would probably help. You also don't need that interior grab handle too, looks like B6 are screwed/bolted in.
  21. I don't want the expense of removing the rear window to get to the roof lining. Nor did I want your opinion on what it might look like. I just needed to know if anyone had done this type of fix previously.
  22. Hi all i have a 1999 80 soft top i drove it for the first time in darkness i put the lights on and the dash didn't light up also the flash is not working but main beam is any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank in advance Sean

  25. I’m know I’m quoting the obvious here, but insurance business is based on risk. Their business algorithms are set up to minimise losses based on age of person driving, experience (advanced driving qualifications and protected no claims), job, where they live, the car value and insurance rating (1-50 set by Thatcham), and where it’s deemed high risk, then they set the premiums accordingly or simply refuse insurance. A bit like a casino, the house always wins. Health and travel insurance works on exactly basis. I hope you get a satisfactory outcome Tony, but suspect it will be expensive.
  26. Hello, I cant find them on there but thanks for the heads up, I made sure when i got these they were actually new stock not already a few years old like many have on offer. I Got these for my A8 so thought maybe a popular size to offer to members.
  27. You must be knowledgeable and spanner handy if you have rebuilt turbo. Given the time to remove and the likelihood that it could potentially fail again, I opted for a new unit from https://turbo-diesel.co.uk on my old A4 Allroad. Back to your issue. The actuator can be be tested with a hand held vacuum pump if it holds pressure. Trouble is, it’s pretty specialised to remove actuator and reconfigure. On new units they are set up from factory, so basically plug and play. Did you renew the oil feed line to the turbo? The union nut at the turbo is known to be problematic and can weep if cracked off. In addition, did you renew the gasket to the exhaust? What are you using to read codes? VCDS would be software of choice and I’m sure would log actuator fault if low boost.
