Shuddering when accelerating
Ahhh this make more sense, a company claiming it is something when in actual fact it isn’t, sound about right, and even managed to get everyone on board calling it a CVT when it isn’t. Anyway, back on topic lol I have read the car with an OBD2 reader and have no faults, I’m to the understanding that it needs to be read on VCDS for more in-depth look to any gearbox faults

Stop start issue
The Yuasa 9000 series are 12 volts so Rob must have a standard starter motor, not the starter/alternator of hybrid cars.

How does the stop start work? Is it off the starter motor, or do you have BAS 48V system?

Shuddering when accelerating
CVTs have what are effectively an infinite number of gears between minimum and maximum, hence the name Continuously Variable. It is misleading of Audi and others to falsely claim their boxes to be CVT when they have only a fixed number of gears, 7 in your case. Look up the gearboxes fitted to DAF vehicles many years ago for an example of a true CVT. They were dreadful things.

Shuddering when accelerating
As far as I have seen every other Audi page and a few auto transmission garages I have contacted state it is a CVT as it is the multitronic 7 speed. I can’t say for definite myself but just on what I’ve read and been told. I agree that mapping can cause problems and could definitely be a possibility though.

That new information means all bets are off regarding diagnosis. Mapping has a bad reputation for causing engine problems. You are right about the symptoms of a slipping clutch, (engine speed rising with no change in road speed,) so we can rule that out. I still believe it is an engine problem, though it needs somebody more knowledgeable than me for a diagnosis. By the way your gearbox is not CVT.

I appreciate the thought however, I had the injectors reconditioned around 600 miles ago along with a new turbo and the DPF deleted (and mapped out) what makes me feel like it’s the gearbox/clutch is when selecting gear I used to feel it pop into gear a little more pronounced that it feels now. I have done a little digging and found that if it was more of a clutch slip problem I should expect the revs to increase faster than the speed but the revs stay consistent it’s just the shudder when accelerating

No problem at all Frank, So we take it you are happy to leave your comments stay, and accept responsibility and defence for any comeback from the people you have criticised on an open forum. Regards, Gareth.

Thanks for your message, I’ll try and organise this as soon as possible, in between work of course. Will post when it is done, maybe a few weeks. Many thanks- Ttrs mk2 oil on top/rear of bell housing
Hi anyone else had a oil leak under the airfilter box around the rear of bell housing (see pics) When i start the car and rev i can't see it leaking from anywhere Does not smell like gearbox fluid so i assume it's engine oil, only thing i can see is the vacuum pump nipple is a bit loose back and forward play but don't know if that would cause this mess 20260710_212435.mp4yaza01 started following Ttrs mk2 oil on top/rear of bell housing- Occasionally not able to access any radio channel
Hello Gareth Far too old for this nonsense so I'm off . I wish you and the Forum well. FrankB7 cabrio final started following Shuddering when accelerating- Shuddering when accelerating
Hi guys, I’m looking for some insight on my problem. It simply started as I pulled out from a car park, I accelerated maybe a little faster than usual nothing extreme, and all of a sudden I lost power. I pulled up for a minute contemplating my life 😂 then proceeded to try and pull away and managed to do so and get home about a mile away. Now the issue is the car is shuddering under acceleration. If I take it really slow through first gear I can avoid it but I mean really quite slow, then I to second again keeping it very low revs and slow paced but trying to accelerate at a normal pace it will shudder quite bad. This happened a few weeks ago and since it’s been parked up. I did notice a small oil leak on the floor under the gearbox and the gearbox casing is slightly wet. I just not sure if I should be expecting it to be a slipping clutch pack or just low hydraulic pressure due to fluid loss but as I mentioned it happened suddenly just pulling out of a car park. Anyway key information: (multitronic gearbox, CVT, driven 97,000 miles and no record of a gearbox service at all) hope someone has some helpful informationB7 cabrio final started following Audi A4 (B7) ForumB7 cabrio final joined the community- Need help finding N90956803 subframe bolt for Audi A4 B6 1.8
Thanks for clarifying, Gareth. I understand now that your earlier suggestion was specifically about Richard's replacement bolt rather than just any M12 × 1.5 bolt. I've contacted Spareto regarding the original part number to see if they can confirm the exact dimensions and availability. They also stock the longer N90924103 bolt that Richard found, so I'm waiting to hear back from them before deciding which route to take. Thanks again to everyone for the help and suggestions.- Occasionally not able to access any radio channel
Hello Frank, Can see you revisited the forum about an hour ago, so would you be kind enough to advise whether you want your dealer opinions to remain or not. Many thanks, Gareth.- Need help finding N90956803 subframe bolt for Audi A4 B6 1.8
Apologies John, my comments were made in relation to best way to shorten the actual bolt which Richard had found for you, not just any M12 x 1.5. Having said that, as Cliff points out, needs must, and personally I would be prepared to fit any high tensile (10.9 I think) since 110Nm +90 degrees should not be any issue for such an M12 bolt. Regards, Gareth.- Need help finding N90956803 subframe bolt for Audi A4 B6 1.8
Thanks, Cliff. I've contacted Spareto about the original N90956803 bolt to confirm whether it's genuine VW/Audi stock and to check the exact dimensions and specification. I also noticed that they sell the N90924103 bolt that Richard suggested as a replacement, so I'm waiting to hear back from them before deciding which route to take. Thanks again for the advice.
