  2. Interesting! Didn’t know you could just change the screen to get car-play/android on it. id thought it was a separate module that needed changing. how easy was that and I’m assuming it needed coding afterwards! cheers
  3. Thanks Dave, all the info is very useful, I'll let you know how I get on ......
  4. I bought an automotive silicon adhesive sealant, (black) online. normal domestic (eg; bathroom) type silicon, doesn’t have the same adhesive quality, it’s why you can peel it off to a degree. ill dig it out for the trade name but, I’m sure there are plenty of different makes. I did it myself due to so many reports of garages & dealers being unable to fix it. but I found that a steel spring net curtain wire was perfect for Cleaning the drains out, (there’s 4, the rear 2 are best accessed from the bottom end, rear wheel well I think), it’s flexible enough and the outer plastic coating means the steel spring doesn’t damage anything. i just used a drinks bottle with a nozzle to dribble water into the sunroof cassette to see if & where it came out. i did have to get the airbag module reset afterwards as the airbag light had come on after I’d removed and replaced the A pillar trims to release the headlining. Be careful you don’t pinch/pierce the airbags (if fitted) with a trim removal tool when you release the headlining above the front doors and behind the A pillar trims. and good luck!
  5. Had a look on YouTube. Here's a couple of vids that might be useful Seat removal

  7. Thought I'd do a guide highlighting which Audi models had a timing chain or Cambelt driven 4.2 V8 for reference. All C5 models equipped with the 4.2 V8 excluding allroad is belt driven which is much better to service, and All D2 A8,S8, and D3 A8 up to 2006 The models that use the modified FSI chain driven 4.2 V8 engines are the C5 Allroad (BAS engine code), C6 A6, D3 A8, and A8L starting in 2007, S4, RS4, Q7. An engine pull is required to service the timing chain on these FSI units due to the location being at the back of the engine next to the firewall. overall the belt driven engines are better serviceable and also have less issues if well maintained. The chain driven 4.2 is known for overheating issues and timing chain issues.
  8. My car is booked in to my local garage in a couple of weeks time to sort the sunroof leak caused by the poor design around the wind deflector and springs. Please let me know what product you've used to seal the holes, is it just a standard sanitary sealant or something different. Thanks .......
  9. I’m in the same boat with a 2014 with the satnav. You can get the latest maps installed but they need to be coded to the car to work or in my case I’ve just purchased a new screen with Android etc on it so life’s easier. Best of luck.

  11. There is a lot of water trapped under the carpet of my 2012 A1 ( 3 door model ). I have pulled back the carpet in either side of the centre console in the front and squeezed out a significant amount of the water, but there is still a lot of water further back which I cannot get to. I would like to remove the entire carpet and dry it out. Would anyone here have step by step instructions on how to achieve this? TIA
  12. I have a 2011 A4 avant but looking to have apple car play. Has anyone found a straight forward way to convert. Thanks in advance
  13. Can't recommend trees but I'd recommend a full wheel alignment and Speedo recalibration as it could be out more than normal.
  14. I'd suspect that the bag isn't inflating and changing it is the only option.
  15. Sorry this wasn't answered. Your probs best transferring any door modules etc from your current car so it doesn't throw any fault codes etc. Glad you got sorted 🙂
  16. Glad we've helped, please keep us posted on how you get on once you've picked it up 🙂 Changing the glass with genuine tinted glass would be costly. Especially the side boot windows as these are bonded into the car body. I paid £120 (very good price) for one to be replaced after someone smashed one of mine. Door windows are more straightforward to change. Not sure about the boot window, but I believe it's bonded in also.
  17. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂

  19. Gary. You have asked several questions over the past few months. We would appreciate some feedback to indicate what success you have had in solving your problems. Perhaps even some thanks if we have helped?
  20. Hi have changed the battery?, other than that you have a bad pulse wire in the rubber boot between the door and the body. Steve.
  21. Hi for your ignition controlled wire find a fuse thats 10 amps or under the 5 amp auxiliary heater fuse is a good one if its fitted, don't use any 10 amp fuse that guard anything like wipers or electric steering and make sure the piggy back spur has the camera fuse, two and a half amp in the top position, trying to find a permanent live is a nightmare so you may have to resort to running a permanent live from the battery with a fused link and routing it through one of the rubber loom boots on the bulkhead to get the wire into the cabin. Steve
  22. Just joined thank you for allowing me in
  23. 5 out of 10 time's passenger door won't unlock with key remote?
  24. Hi. I'm a Newbie so please forgive any brainless inconsistencies with site protocols Does anyone know which fuse I can piggyback from for fitting front and rear dashcams, both of which have parking mode available (need permanent live even with ignition off to activate in the even of car park collision etc) ? Many thanks to anyone who answers this or offers advice as it's the first time I've owned an Audi (A3 2022) and no, I couldn't find it on any previous posts according to my search.
  25. Hey all, current got a 2018 audi a6 Quattro with software version RMC_EU_P16342. To be honest, car have decent spec but this software is real let down. Nav SD version is also 2017. Can anyone advise how I can upgrade? Ideally I want to use apple CarPlay and have decent upgraded .maps. Don’t want to start retro fitting screens etc. I have a couple of videos on YouTube about purchasing sd card and downloading another version but just to make sure I am doing the right thing. That’s why thought I should ask u guys 👍🏻. Advice welcome please, thanks
  26. I’m looking to buy an Audi A5 3.0L diesel sportback (5 door) (245hp) S-tronic (S-line or Black Edition). Preferably in black with decent mileage (up to 120k) year 2012-onwards.
  27. Thanks for the reply. That’s interesting alright, I wouldn’t have considered that being an issue either. Are you planning to take a risk with it and see if it fits?
  28. Thanks Cent! That is reassuring - I heard some reports of 37 mpg for long motorway trips…which would defeat the point! I am mainly hanging on for the upgraded option packs like heads up display (I borrowed a BMW with it and loved it) which is currently offered with the standard engines. It would be nice if the PU was also an upgraded…but we will see. Will let you know as soon as I find anything out, I’m on a waiting list to be sent the details as soon as they become available.
