Ive upgraded my radio and speakers don’t work as they should

Featured Replies

So I’ve upgraded my radio from a concert to a xtron satnav radio. When I take the volume past 20+ it goes distorted. I have the bose system in the front and the speakers work perfectly fine because I swapped back to the original to double check. Any advice would be amazing

Thanks for the reply, it’s just the radio that’s new. But the speakers have sound but the quality is awful. One thing I have noticed and I will try and explain this the best I can...

on the car side of the radio harness there is More cables going into it than on the aftermarket radio side, it’s missing a brown cable connected to the harness.

i hope that makes sense

In that case I am out of my depth. I do know that speakers have to be the right impedance for the radio (i.e. matched for the output strength,) but whether that is the problem or you lack some other adaptor for the extra cable I have no idea. Let's hope somebody else has can help.
