Parking sensors

Featured Replies

Car has rear parking sensors factory fitted but no button to disable them? Ie for towing? Can one be bought and just fitted?

Any info would be appreciated:)

That’s what I thought steve, just didn’t know if there were different specs. The tow bar is a factory fit detachable Jobby. I’ll see if I can get a switch for less than a weeks wages 🙂

Is it avant or saloon ?

Avant

Factory fittet tow bar was Westfaila and it was automaticly retracted from under the car by a button in the boot. As part of the wirring there was a extra module that controls tow bar and integrates with the rest of the car , ei swithing rear sensors off etc

Check to see if you have the option in the MMI under the Car Setup where it has Towing Mode and Jacking Mode, if you set the Towing Mode to ON then it disables the rear sensors but leaves the front working. Or at least it does on my 2009 Allroad 3.0TDI.
