Fans keep running

Featured Replies

Hi all I've just got myself a 2007 a3 2.0 tdi sportback and am loving it so far..

I've noticed that the fans seem to run quite a lot even when I've just got in car and can notice them everytime I leave the car.

Any help would be appreciated

Thank you.

Hello Paul,

Eliminating the basic silly things first :-

Are you sure the air conditioning is off? It is off when the Econ button shows a red light. Well at least if the 2007 model is the same as the 2006.

Kind regards,

Gareth.

Hey, does this take about 15-20 mins to stop after you're out of the car? Mine is doing it as well. Is the smaller fan working? Mine has stopped working, and the larger one of the 2 is running on and off even after the ignition is off!

I had this before and it was water in the main fuse box in the engine bay. Replaced the two main fuses and problem was solved.

I had drained and cleaned the box out and drilled a small hole in the vase of the fuse box so that any future water would drain out rather than fill the box.

Thanks

Steve

Apparently is a common issue with the fuse boxes that the seal is pants! Luckily my local garage I use the guys in there are VAG master techs
