Q5 Rattle in roof when sunroof is opened

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 2015 Q5 with panoramic roof. When it is opened to 'tilt' there is a rattle which seems to be in the headlining. Close the roof and it stops.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I must add that 9 months ago I had an Audi front and rear dashcam installed and the cable to the rear cam runs down the right hand side roof lining trim. But why only rattle when the roof is open?

The noise does seem more than just a cable flopping about on the trim.

Any advice welcome.

Thanks

John

Welcome to the forum John, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂

Is your q5 still under warranty? If so I'd be getting it booked in for Audi to take a look.

cheers

Hi,

Its just out of warranty, but with having had a camera fitted, it was obvious they would blame it on that no matter what, and charge me. I have a friend who is a top body repairer, I will seek him out. Just wanted to know if anyone else had had this issue.. It sounds like its towards the right rear, probably around the C pillar area. I wlll investigate.
