Audi A8 4.2 Diesel

Hello!

I currently have a 2009 plate 3.0tdi SE SWB with 157k miles on it. I am looking at buying another but this time the 4.2 diesel. I have owned the 3.0 6 years and in that time it has had a few bits that went wrong from the mechatronic unit on the gearbox and the rear aircon modual, luckily I took an after market warranty that paid for it.

Is there anything I should be aware of on the 4.2? I have noticed that some of SWB models dont have the rear aircon/heated seats, I thought that was standard? Also, am I bonkers looking at the W12?

Cheers in advance.

Hi Simon,

The W12 is a gorgeous car and only in LWB form. Not economical though! A well serviced engine is key for the W12. If you need to economy then the 4.2 diesel would be a nice compromise and again service history is key. For the nicer toys I'd  recommend the LWB version. To be fair you'll probably know a8 models better than me.

Cheers

Steve
