A5 rooftop box locked down - softtop storage box not lowered

Featured Replies

Friends,

I'm having an issue with my audi a5 2010 convertible. Error message: "soft top storage box not lowered, remove obstacles".
I check the trunk and the variable storage bar is already lowered down. I suspect it is a cable that may have slipped its position yet i spent hours inspecting it after undressing the whole trunk but could not pinpoint the trigger of the problem. When i use the soft top switch I can hear the motor trying to pull but sounds like it retracts empty, so im deducing loss of cord tension. I tried to look for the tension cord but could not locate it. If i try to retract the horizontal bar in my hand upwards, it does not lock up, it snaps back down as i remove my hand. I attached a picture as well of the faulty part marked in red arrows.
I appreciate ifanyone can help share a possible fix.
Thank you
