A6 Headlight Replacements

Featured Replies

Hi, I have an Audi A6 1.8T, first registered in 2003 and these days I need to use a light abrasive to reduce the yellow film that forms on the front of the headlamp lens, to get the car through the light checks portion of the MOT.  I was wondering what my options might be regarding changing the headlamp units.  Do I need to fit a like for like replacement, or is there a more effective lighting technology available which it would be sensible to tap into?  I would love to hear from anybody who has gone through this process.  Thank you.

Welcome to the forum Tony, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 😊

When I had a similar issue I just replaced like for like as I found it the easiest way.

Cheers

Steve

Hi I had the same problem with having to flatten back the yellow film to get the car through it’s mot every year, a friend told me that you can get them re lacquered so I went to a local body shop guy I know and he done exactly that and they are as good as new and saved me £££s and this is a recent picture of my car and it was a year ago they were re lacquered and there still as good as new 😊
